A pub manager has been jailed after being caught smuggling cannabis sweets into prison for her boyfriend.
Montana Robertson, 23, hid the drug and three mobile phone SIM cards in her mouth during a visit to HMP Parc in Bridgend, South Wales.
But she was arrested after being caught when she was searched by staff at the category B prison.
Newport Crown Court heard when police searched Robertson’s home they found cannabis jellies and cannabis gelato worth £70.
Kathryn Lane, prosecuting, said Robertson claimed to have ‘done it through peer pressure’.
‘She said she was 23 years old and ought to have known better.’
Robertson pleaded guilty to two counts of bringing a prohibited article into prison and one of possession of cannabis.
Nigel Fryer, defending, said: ‘It is an absolute tragedy that she finds herself here. She was the manager of a pub in Cardiff which she has lost.’

Mr Fryer added Robertson had a ‘decent life, friends and a lot to look forward to in the future’.
‘Her actions were utterly foolish and she was extremely candid with the probation service.
‘She is petrified of going to prison.’
He said Robertson was ‘no longer in a relationship’ with the person she had visited at HMP Parc and her character references ‘speak extremely highly of her’.
Robertson, formerly of Newport but now of Pentwyn, Cardiff, had been studying an Open University course and aspired to run her own business, according to Mr Fryer.

Judge Matthew Porter-Bryant told Robertson she acted out of a ‘misplaced loyalty’ to her ex-boyfriend.
He said: ‘You say you had some sympathy for him and there was pressure placed on him by others.
‘You care for your mother and you provide her with financial assistance. You have lost a respectable position within the pub trade.’
He said he accepted Robertson’s remorse was ‘genuinely felt’.
She was jailed for 50 days.
