Two products sold on sites including Amazon have been rejected at the border and issued with an urgent ‘stop using’ warning because they could cause electric shock or choking.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPPS) issued the warnings yesterday, April 11, over the Togetdream 3D Printed Dinosaur Toy and a Waxing and Polishing Machine.
The toy dinosaur has been deemed to be of a ‘serious risk’ to children, who could choke on the product because it is ‘supplied with a small part, and is inappropriately labelled’.
While the Waxing and Polishing Machine was rejected at the British border yesterday because it poses a ‘serious risk of fire and electric shock’.
The item has been rejected at the border and removed from the Amazon website.
Both products were manufactured in China, their recall listings said.
The toy dinosaur’s listing reads: ‘This product presents a serious risk of choking because it comes with a separate bone intended to be placed in the dinosaur’s mouth.
‘As the product is not appropriately labelled, a child under 36 months may play with the toy, place this small part in their mouth and choke.
