STYLISH Kate gave British fashion another boost as she headed out a prize named in honour of the late Queen.
The Princess of Wales, 43, presented the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design at an event hosted by the British Fashion Council (BFC) at London’s 180 Studios to winning designer Patrick McDowell.

The award recognises and celebrates sustainable fashion.
Patrick, 29, said: “It’s a huge privilege and honour.
“Throughout her tenure she’s been an amazing advocate of British fashion and really flies the flag for British fashion.
“She also looks incredible and is a real style icon.
“It is extra special to receive an award from her today.
“The Royal Family has been incredibly supportive from Queen Elizabeth II and the King.”
The prize celebrates the impact of young British designers and the UK’s thriving fashion industry.
And recognises designers who are leading the way in sustainable practices and making a positive impact on the environment.
She visited the winning designer’s pop-up studio and see how their sustainable
designs are created.
And spoke to other sustainable British fashion designers at the bash.
The Princess has long been hailed as a British fashion icon herself, wearing an elegant purple coat dress and halo fascinator on VE Day.
Her dedication to the meaning behind what she wears is unmatched, the pretty purple colour not only looks nice but it also signifies the unity of the armed forces and all its branches – Army green, Marine red and Navy blue.
Not only was Kate’s subtle honour intended to honour veterans but also to pay homage to Queen Camilla.
Camilla often wears her own purple coat dress to royal events such as the annual Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in 2022.
The touching tribute to Camilla’s style is a heartwarming move by Catherine as the pair have formed a close bond in recent years, according to royal experts.
The Princess not only strategically selects stunning pieces for herself, but is known to put together outfits for her daughter Charlotte.
According to fashion expert Amber Graafland, Princess Charlotte, 10, is following in the footsteps of her mum, who “carefully considers” her outfits and “conveys messages” with them.
The style pro told Fabulous: “Princess Kate has perfected the art of effective communication through the language of clothes.
“Kate often uses her impeccable style to nod to her hosts on official visits.
“As Kate has become more comfortable with positioning Charlotte in the public eye, she has also started using her clothes to convey hidden messages.”
Not only do matching outfits show their unity but they also hold some royal ties too.
Another way Princess Charlotte’s outfits have a poignant nod is by paying tribute to family members.
Amber explained: “Posing for the family Christmas card in 2023 Princess Kate dressed her daughter in a white blouse that appeared to honour the later grandmother, Princess Diana.
“Charlotte was dressed in the Diana blouse from Amaia Kids, a touching nod to the relative that they were clearly missing at Christmas.”
