‘Poshfluencer’ Lydia Millen used to look quite different to the well-groomed tweed-loving country girl she is today.
These days, you’re likely to see the 37-year-old posing in her Barbour jacket, worn over cashmere knits or stepping out in an elegant ballgown and sporting perfectly blow-dried hair.
It’s a far cry from the 20-something year old who would model a pleather halterneck, thigh-high socks and underwear while sporting dark straightened hair and heavy eyeliner.
But Lydia takes those comparisons in her stride – and while some critics have tried to ‘expose’ her past, she laughs it off saying she is proud of where she has come from and has nothing to hide.
Lydia often shares pictures from her polished £2million Northamptonshire home, complete with sage green walls, a farmhouse aesthetic and a perfectly manicured garden.
She and her husband – fellow content creator Ali Gordon, live there with two dogs Porter and Berkeley, a cat Lumi, a horse Atlas, and nine chickens.
But she is just as proud of the ex-council house they bought a decade ago in Milton Keynes.

Lydia’s critics often try and expose her past but she has said she is fiercely proud of where she has come from and how she has built an incredible life (pictured, the inside of her old home)
The fashion, fitness, lifestyle and travel vlogger recently shared a before and after picture of the home on social media after she overhauled the front garden and looked back with nostalgia.
Influenced by the beauty of nature and seasonal living, Lydia has amassed a global audience of over 4 million who respect and trust her authentic opinions and she and Ali have a reported joint net worth of £10million.
Lydia recently addressed her critics and said: ‘The things you try to expose about my past are things you only know because I have happily shared them. You’re not catching me out on anything.’
Her star continues to rise. She has now worked with brand giants from Oscar De La Renta, FRASERS and Space NK.
Featured by the likes of Vogue, ELLE, Forbes, Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire, Lydia is a proud supporter of charities and not-for-profits close to her heart – these passion projects include The King’s Trust and The King’s Foundation.
Her debut book, Evergreen sold 40,000 copies and she’s also collaborated with beauty brand, Sweed and fashion powerhouses, Karen Millen, Fairfax and Favor and Holland Cooper.
This week, Lydia reflected upon the memory of when she and Ali prepared to move home after the successful growth of their brand

In 2012, Lydia and Ali begun their relationship. By December 2016 they were engaged, and in 2017, they were married at Aynhoe Park, Northamptonshire (pictured at a friend’s wedding)
But Lydia’s road to success wasn’t pre-destined. She is completely self-made and she has worked her way up to where she is now, after learning to code websites when she was just aged 13.
She was born in Watford and grew up between the homes of her parents in Croxley Green, Hertfordshire.
While she has her pick of Range Rovers and sports cars now – Lydia still looks back fondly on her first car, a Vauxhall Corsa she brought 21 years ago from a dealership in Croxley Green.
And fans are just as obsessed with Lydia’s love life. In 2012, Lydia and Ali officially began their relationship.
By December 2016 they were engaged, and in December 2017, they were married at Aynhoe Park, Northamptonshire.
Lydia’s first brush with influencing started when she wrote a written online blog about lifestyle and fashion as a University marketing student in 2011.
Her first blogs were about sharing charity shop finds, and how she upcycled clothes from her wardrobe and put outfits together.
Lydia started vlogging in 2014 and two years later she went full-time as an influencer.
Since hitting her 30s, her content has evolved to include content around the countryside, gardening and outdoors.
And while much of Lydia’s content evolved in the luxury arena, Lydia is immensely proud of her humble roots and her career over 15 years.
Last year, she proudly posted pictures from 21 years ago when she picked up her first car, a Corsa from a dealership in Croxley Green
Lydia has since had the opportunity to drive around some pretty flash cars
