Daugirdas had been battling colorectal cancer and undergoing both radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
She first revealed the diagnosis at 32 in a selfie video, explaining: ‘I discovered it through a colonoscopy. First, the symptoms started like this: lifelong constipation, a feeling of incomplete bowel movements…
‘But one day I started noticing blood in my stool when I wiped. At first it was occasional, then more frequent… I thought it might be haemorrhoids or something else. I never imagined it could be cancer.’
The colonoscopy revealed a ‘quite a large polyp – two or three centimeters – in the rectum, low down, very close to the anus.’
Daugirdas, who leaves behind a husband, underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy and surgeries, which were initially successful. However, the cancer later returned.

‘Go with God warrior!! Woman of faith, perseverance and a lot of light!!! Your story of showing smiles through pain, marked your history!!!’ wrote someone else.
