NO one likes to feel overlooked and spied upon in their own home, but sometimes it’s unavoidable.
As our homes become taller and closer together, Lidl have been finding innovative solutions to help keep the onlookers out.
Lidl’s Privacy Solution
Lidl have launched a budget-friendly solution to help keep privacy at home.
For only £2.99, Lidl have released new Livarno Home Window Privacy Films.
The new product is set to launch on August 14 and will be sure to fly off the shelves.
The reason to buy
Privacy can be required at home for a number of reasons, and for many it can be the only option.
For many, curtains and blinds are too costly and an inefficient way of blocking out onlookers.
What’s more, not all windows are uniform in size, and so finding blinds to fit some windows can be an interior design nightmare.
As a result, privacy film such as Lidl’s, which can be cut to size, is a great solution, in particular because it is reusable.
The easy to apply self-adhesive makes protecting your home has never been easier.
The rolls come in four different varieties to fit any interior, and come in rolls of 67.5cm wide and 200cm long.
As a result, for many windows, there would be no need to awkwardly try to align two rolls together or pattern match.’
And unlike blinds and curtains, window film is also easy to clean – it can simply be wiped down with household cleaning products.
Film over curtains
People tend to use privacy glass for multiple reasons, and there are many options on the market.
Privacy glass films can be either reflective or frosted.
Reflective glass helps to achieve privacy by providing an appearance on one side of the glass, whilst allowing vision from the other side, meaning those who use it can still look out without hindering their view – only the view of onlookers.
The film works on the light balance, with the side of the film that is brightest exhibiting the reflective properties.
During daylight hours, this is always the side of the film facing outwards, making it ideal for daytime privacy.
Therefore, the film is an ideal alternative to blinds or curtains which, when drawn, block the view both ways, whilst also making rooms dark.
These films are designed to allow good light transmission, ensuring that a good level of natural light is allowed to enter the room whilst also maintaining a view.
For some people, ultimate privacy is wanted, and so two-way frosted film can be used.
Once applied, this versatile film gives windows the appearance of acid etched or sandblasted glass, preventing vision from both sides of the pane whilst allowing high levels of light to pass through.
It is a stylish solution to privacy, while still allowing light to enter the building and can be cut to the exact size specifications.
Yet, privacy is not the only purpose for windows films.
Some films have solar control benefits to help lower heat buildup in rooms by reflecting the heat out of a room.
This means they can be the perfect solution to keeping rooms cooler in the summer months, such as bedrooms.
