A schoolgirl killed in a horror fire has been named and pictured for the first time by police.

Ann Eyre, 15, died in the devastating blaze alongside a 67-year-old woman at a home in St Patrick’s Way, Bletchley, near Milton Keynes. 

Emergency services raced to the street on Friday at 12.10pm with firefighters quickly bringing the flames under control.

Thames Valley Police is treating the deaths as ‘unexplained’ and has since launched an investigation. 

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: ‘Although she has not been formally identified, we can confirm the girl who tragically died was Ann Eyre, from Bletchley.

‘We’d ask people to respect her family’s privacy at this incredibly difficult time.

‘Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims of this tragic fire.’

The spokesperson added the force was unable to confirm the identity of the woman.

Emotional tributes have since been paid to the youngster on social media who was described as ‘smart and funny’. 

One person wrote on Facebook: ‘Such a beautiful soul you lit up the room with your smile. Keep blowing those bubbles up there.’

While another added: ‘Such a lovely young lady, it was a joy to know her.’

One neighbour, named only as Gabriel, told the BBC he had heard ‘loud screams’ coming from the home during the fire. 

The father said what he saw was ‘unimaginable’, before adding: ‘Earlier when it happened, I really wasn’t myself. I was very, very, shocked.’

He described the family who lived at the home as ‘easy-going, calm and lovely’.
