Pep Guardiola was called a ‘bald rat’ by a fan in the stands following Manchester City’s 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final.

Guardiola walked up the steps at Wembley past supporters as Man City players went to collect their runners-up medals.

Despite the disappointing defeat, footage showed Guardiola greeted supporters who had outstretched arms as he climbed the steps.

As Guardiola walked past, one supporter with a Liverpudlian accent could be heard shouting ’20 times you bald rat’ in his direction.

The comment appeared to reference Liverpool clinching their 20th Premier League title this season.

Guardiola was seen glancing at the fan after the abusive comment, but opted to continue walking towards the Royal Box.

Guardiola was also heckled following Man City’s defeat by city rivals Man United in the FA Cup final last year.

Footage, which went viral last December, saw a Liverpudlian fan comment as Guardiola had walked past him in Manchester.

The supporter had said ‘right mate, just ’cause you lost’, leading to Guardiola turning around and approaching the individual recording the video.

Guardiola was restrained and led away by two members of his entourage.

The Man City boss has now seen his side suffer defeat in back-to-back FA Cup finals, with the defeat to Palace leaving the Citizens trophyless this season.

City were undone at Wembley by a first half Eberechi Eze goal, with the Eagles star turning in a cross from Daniel Munoz.

Palace survived two major scares after taking the lead with Dean Henderson avoiding a red card after handling outside his penalty area.

The Eagles goalkeeper then superbly denied Omar Marmoush from the penalty spot, after Bernardo Silva had been brought down by Tyrick Mitchell.

Guardiola was involved in a heated post-match exchange with Henderson, after approaching the shot stopper.

The Palace goalkeeper refused to back down as the pair exchanged heated words.

Guardiola looked at Henderson and wagged his finger, while Henderson smiled and put his hands up to gesture the number 10.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner then hugged his goalkeeper, and Henderson said something else to Guardiola, who seemingly remonstrated.

The Spanish boss then got one final word in, before he was ushered away by Palace substitute goalkeeper Matt Turner.

After the game, Henderson said he told Guardiola: ‘You got your 10 minutes like you wanted.’ Guardiola, meanwhile insisted he said ‘nothing’.

Henderson told BBC Sport at full time: ‘It’s incredible, we had a feeling it would be our day today. We deserve this so much.’
