A GYM-GOER has left people horrified after sharing how her friend was forced to use the stairmaster.
Emily Wojtkow took to TiKTok after her pal had to do her workout “in the ceiling”, as stunned viewers begged the gym to be ‘demolished’.
According to the fitness lover, the pair had decided to try out new gym facilities in Bradford.
While Emily went on to do something else, her pal decided to burn some calories on the stairmaster – but just moments later, the TikToker was left in hysterics when she popped back to check on her.
It appears that as the machine was too close to the low ceiling, the staff members had removed one of the white ceiling tiles to ensure cardio bunnies don’t bang their head against it.
The unusual solution meant the gym-goer spent her workout in total darkness, just about able to see what’s hiding above the ceiling.
“I was dying when I came over and saw her stuck in ceiling,” Emily told social media users in the hilarious video.
Sharing the footage on her page, the woman said: “Went to a gym near us only for us have to do our workout in the ceiling. Send help.”
The comic yet bizarre incident has since forced the friends to find another gym, as Emily said it “ruined” their locked-in New Year’s resolution.
Posted less than a day ago, the amusing clip has taken the platform by storm, racking up more than 116k views.
Dozens were left in stitches, as they flocked to comments, where one joked: “Your fitness is reaching new heights.”
Another was totally gobsmacked, writing: “Noooooo what on earth.”
Meanwhile, someone else insisted the “gym needs demolishing”.
“Watch out for bugs, they love da ceiling,” a fourth commented.
This comes just days after one woman, Scarlett Hutton, was horrified after attending an early gym class.
Scarlett explained that she joined a 6.30am workout session – however, the mortifying experience has been enough for Scarlett to not show her face “to a weights class again”.
The 5 best exercises to lose weight
By Lucy Gornall, personal trainer and health journalist
EXERCISE can be intimidating and hard to devote yourself to. So how do you find the right workout for you?
As a PT and fitness journalist, I’ve tried everything.
I’ve taken part in endless fitness competitions, marathons and I maintain a regime of runs, strength training and Pilates.
Fitness is so entrenched in my life, I stick to it even at Christmas!
The key is finding an activity you love that can become a habit.
My top five forms of exercise, especially if you’re trying to lose weight, are:
- Walking
- Running
- Pilates
- High-intensity interval training (HIIT)
- Strength training
The BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat reporter said in her video that she had “a free taster session” and despite the class taking place early in the morning, she decided to try it anyway.
The session was the “hardest class ever” – but things quickly went from bad to worse when Scarlett opened Instagram and saw that the gym had uploaded a video.
Unfortunately for the horrified TikToker, the person recording the Rise & Shine circuit had shot footage of her performing some of the intense exercises.
In one shot, the gym-goer could be seen holding two dumbbells in both of her hands in what appeared to be mid-squat.
In the next one, Scarlett, who posts under the username @scarlzz, could be seen holding a barbell with plates on each side, as she was pushing it upwards.
Sadly, the radio presenter’s day only got worse when she clicked on the gym’s Instagram page.
“I’m the bloody thumbnail, aren’t I?” mortified Scarlett was fuming in her video.
“What did I do to deserve this?” Scarlett demanded answers.
