One mum took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share a video of the Baby Emma Expressions doll in action, crying loudly before apparently saying something at the end.

“Has anyone bought the sweary Emma interactive doll from Smyths?” the mum wrote.

“I say sweary because it’s all I can hear, after testing it before wrapping today.

“My sister and I were gobsmacked and after asking a few friends what they hear, everyone agrees!”

“What is it meant to be? All I hear is f**k off!” one person commented.

“No idea, but that’s all we hear too!” the mum replied.

“It definitely does say that,” another said.

“Even my dad thought it said f**k off,” a third insisted.

“I heard it say ‘f**k off’,” someone else wrote.

As another sighed: “Them dolls freak me the hell out and now they are swearing… I’m not gonna be able to sleep now!”

There was some confusion among others as to what the doll said at the end of her tantrum – with some suggesting she said “chocolate”, while others said it sounded more like “bottle”.

However, some people argued it sounded like she said “shut up”.

“I thought it was saying shut up at the end,” one wrote.

“My son said it says ‘f**k off’. I hear shut up,” another said.

“I can hear shut up, f**k off, Sandra and w**ker,” a third mused.

And others were left debating what to do with the doll, after already buying it for their little ones for Christmas.
