Orlando Bloom’s split from Katy Perry is a ‘savvy’ career move amid her perceived fall from grace, it was claimed today.
The pair are reportedly said to have called it quits after nine years together, six of which they were engaged, and welcoming a child, Daisy – with Orlando since being pictured enjoying a ‘lads holiday’ to Jeff Bezos‘s wedding in Venice.
Fresh from his split with the popstar, the Lord Of The Rings actor, 48, was seen cosying up to a mystery woman – later revealed by MailOnline to be Meghan Markle’s stylist Jamie Mizrahi – and chatting with Kim Kardashian.
Katy, 40, herself is facing ‘uncertain’ times and ‘disappearing fame’ following her poor-performing album 143, while her recent trip to space with Blue Origin drew significant backlash.
Speaking to MailOnline, PR and brand expert Chad Teixeira said the split has been ‘incredibly well-timed’ on Orlando’s part – whether ‘intentionally or coincidentally’ – as he attends the wedding alone.
Chad said that while Orlando has previously been in the ‘shadow’ of his fiancée’s stardom, he now has the opportunity for a ‘soft rebrand’ following their split.
He said: ‘The breakup has created a brand window for Orlando, and one that he’s stepping into with just the right amount of presence.
‘He’s not chasing the spotlight, but he’s not hiding either. That’s a savvy move in today’s fame economy and it’ll stand him in better stead when Katy’s fame is disappearing more than ever.’

On Monday, DailyMail.com reported that Katy and Orlando were renting out their $30 million mansion in Montecito, California, to Chris Pratt and his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, which only intensified rumors of a breakup.
‘Her and Orlando have always lived in their other Montecito home as their primary residence,’ Us Weekly’s source said.
They said the allegedly split couple had intended to establish the rented mansion as ‘their family home’ before the situation changed.
They added that Katy and Orlando have ‘been living apart since Katy has been on tour.’
Katy had been spotted multiple times with her daughter Daisy while touring in Australia this month, and Orlando has made several solo public appearances, including stops at the Tribeca festival and an appearance to celebrate the launch of a cruise ship with Drew Barrymore.
