The action/adventure film, released in 2000, is based on Wang Dulu’s book of the same name.
According to Variety, the show’s logline reads: ‘Amidst stunning landscapes and spectacular action, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon follows Shu Lien and Mu Bai, two star-crossed warriors, as they struggle between forbidden love and the pull of modernity — caught between preserving their way of life or embracing a future together.’
Jason Ning will serve as writer. He will also executive produce the project, along with Ron D. Moore, Maril Davis, Johnny Levin, Roy Lee, Hong Wang, Qin Wang, and Ying Lou. Sony Pictures Television will produce.
