Olivia Attwood hits out at the ‘stigma’ of WAG culture and insists her footballer husband doesn’t contribute to her lavish lifestyle

She became a bona fide WAG when she tied the knot with footballer Bradley Dack in a lavish central London ceremony in the summer of 2023.

But Olivia Attwood has hit out at the ‘stigma’ of being the partner of a successful sportsman, insisting she funds her lavish lifestyle and has worked ‘relentlessly’ since being catapulted to fame when she left the Love Island villa in 2017.

The TV personality, 34, dated Bradley, 31, prior to entering the ITV reality show and he was already a footballer playing for League Two team Gillingham FC.

Olivia slammed ‘gold digger’ claims and said it doesn’t matter what job her husband has because she works ‘seven days a week’.

She told MailOnline: ‘I think people are like, “She works seven days a week, surely she’s got some f*****g cash”.

‘Maybe in the beginning when Brad and I first started dating, there was a bit of a stigma around it [dating someone who plays sport for a living].

‘And people can kind of go, “Oh”, a bit of an eye roll and stupid comments like, “Oh my gosh she’s with him cos he plays football”.

‘I’ve got my own money, so it doesn’t really matter what he does for a job.’

Straight-talking Olivia shot to fame thanks to her stint in the Love Island villa in the summer of 2017, which saw her reach the show final with her ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes, 32, who she dated until February 2018.

The former grid girl has since become a household name and a regular face on TV, appearing on The Only Way Is Essex, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, This Morning and Loose Women.

Olivia has also fronted many of her own shows and presented Bad Boyfriends, Getting Filthy Rich and The Price Of Perfection – admitting she has ‘bitten the hands off’ TV executives for ‘big jobs, little jobs, whatever I could get’.

But this success did not come overnight and she told how she ‘grafted’ when she left the villa while working relentlessly to get where she is today.

Olivia told MailOnline: ‘Post Love Island, I knew where I wanted to be. I knew I wanted to stay working in television, and I was very dedicated to that, and everything I’ve done is working towards that bigger goal.

‘I’ve been very patient and I’ve learnt the craft, I’m still learning, I’ve taken the big jobs, the little jobs, whatever I could get, I just bite their hand off for it.’

‘Relentlessly pursuing that bigger goal and I’m working really hard at it, it doesn’t come overnight’, she added.

‘Even when you get a big platform like Love Island, you still need to prove yourself to people.

‘I think sometimes people become impatient off the back of reality shows, but these kind of things, they don’t happen overnight, you have to stick with it. It takes graft.’

Olivia has enjoyed the spoils of a lavish lifestyle thanks to her lucrative television career and is regularly seen toting around Chanel and Hermes handbags.

She has also enjoyed many luxurious trips throughout the years – in the last nine weeks she has been seen in France, Miami and Ibiza.

In her popular TV documentary, Price Of Perfection, Olivia was very candid about her own cosmetic tweakments and confessed she spends a ‘couple of grand a month’ maintaining her image.

Olivia and footballer Bradley originally began dating before she went looking for love in the Mallorcan Love Island villa in 2017

The pair met at a nightclub in the West End back in 2015 after being introduced through mutual friends.

They dated on and off for three months before the romance fizzled out and Olivia decided to go on Love Island – later confirming Bradley was the ex she spoke about in her introduction clip.

Olivia and Chris broke up in February 2018, less than a year after they reached the final of Love Island – and it wasn’t long before the star was back with Bradley, with the couple reuniting in early 2018.

Olivia announced their engagement in October 2019, sharing sweet snaps of the couple on a beach in Dubai after the footballer popped the question.

Alongside the photos, she wrote: ‘He must be crazy… Here’s to forever. I love you BD.’

The pair then got married in June 2023 at luxury five-star hotel Bulgari in Knightsbridge.

Surrounded by 80 friends and family and with her proud father, Kai, by her side, Olivia looked exquisite in a bespoke £30,000 lace-sleeved gown by designer Galia Lahav, which was just one of two stunning outfits she wore on the day.

Olivia has now teamed up with Costa Coffee for the new Costa Hypeline – a one-day service delivering motivational voice notes from Roman Kemp and Olivia in celebration of the brand’s cold latte cans.

The personalised voice notes are hoped to to hype people up when they need it most, turning pre-interview jitters, mid-afternoon lulls, or even laundry-day dread into moments of motivation.

Live on July 17, the Hypeline responds to Gen Z’s growing need for everyday motivation.

Olivia said: ‘We often underestimate how powerful the little things can be. When we build these boosts into our routine, they give us something to look forward to and help break up the day in a positive way.

‘When you give yourself those small moments of joy, you’re better equipped to handle whatever the day throws at you.

‘It’s not about doing more, it’s about feeling better while you do it.

‘Motivation is an important thing as most of us hit a wall way before lunchtime. A little hype can go a long way.

‘I’m buzzing to be on the other end of the line with Costa, handing out some words of encouragement.

‘We’ll be managing the Costa Hypeline for one day only on July 17 to help give out those much-needed boosts of productivity – message in for a hype!’
