Of Course…MSNBC Suggests ICE Assassin Was Right Wing – HotAir

Did you know that six years ago, a Right-wing terrorist in New Zealand wrote a message on the bullets he used to kill people in Christchurch, New Zealand?

Of course you did. Everybody knows that, because everybody in the United States followed the case so closely that we followed every detail and knew that only right-wingers ever do such things. 





Right?

That, my friends, is the argument of a former FBI agent who appeared on MSNBC to muddy up the facts of the horrific shooting that took the lives of illegal migrants who were on their way to be deported. Like Khan in Star Trek II, he kept firing at his targets and kept hitting everybody else. 

OH COME ON! 

Writing a message or a manifesto is not a right-wing phenomenon; sending a message is the whole point of terrorism. “Do what I want, or else!” It’s not like Joshua John cared who he killed. ICE was the target, not any particular ICE agent. Even if the Charlie Kirk assassination, Kirk was the particular target, but the message was to all right-wing influencers: beware, because we are out here and willing to kill you all. 

Message delivered. 

Already, a meme is spreading on X that the shooting doesn’t add up, and it is just another psy-op and FBI cover-up, and the “both-sides-ing” has started. 





Yeah, no. There may be deranged conservatives, but it is the left wing that has been actively celebrating and promoting violence from the top. 

The outpouring of hate for Charlie Kirk and the production of lists of the next targets by left-wingers, including teachers, doctors, lawyers, and even politicians, was repulsive, but hardly surprising. Assassination culture has become normalized on the left. 

In 2020, the Democratic Party went all in on political violence as a legitimate tactic in politics, openly celebrating and encouraging both the George Floyd riots, after creeping up to the line in the years before. Left-wing Democrats like Maxine Waters crossed that line years before, but it was Nancy Pelosi who openly suggested that an uprising was to be expected. 

The left has been spreading ridiculous studies that right-wing violence eclipses in scope that coming from the left, but even the most cursory look at their evidence shows how ridiculous that claim is. 





And, of course, the evidence before our eyes is very clear: there are daily attacks on ICE, political assassinations, and assassination attempts coming from the left, and leftists are openly calling for violence everywhere you turn. 

You have to be blind not to see it. 

It is now commonplace for leftist politicians and comics to make sly comments about Trump dying–he is, after all, Hitler–and it only took a few days for liberals to start attacking Trump as a fascist, Hitler, and an “existential threat,” after he was shot. There was no let up at all after the second try. 

So after each of these events, Pravda Media works tirelessly to pull out the “both sides” arguments, or imply that it was really a conservative MAGA person who did some dastardly deed.  





I despair of Democratic Party leaders working to clean up their act, at least until their more moderate suburban base requires them to. Urban liberals are all in on the rhetoric, and it inspires them to show up and riot. 

Not that riots are classified as political violence, even if rocks are thrown at agents. That is “speech.” 

I hate to think or say it, but perhaps the fact that the victims in this case were of the “right” sort–migrants–will bother enough people to get them angry about the violence. The death of multiple law enforcement agents and the assassination of Charlie Kirk haven’t moved them yet. 

The people who have to step up right now are center-left voters, who directly interact with politicians and who are the only people with moral authority to punish Democratic Party politicians for their insane rhetoric. That won’t stop the violence any time soon, but it is a necessary first step. 





Until Democrats pay a political price for promoting violence, they will continue to do so. It excites their base, so it is accomplishing the intended goal. Only other Democrat voters who are reflexively Democrat but not extremists can have an impact. 

Will they step up, or comfort themselves with the fantasy that this is “both sides.”
