Newcastle’s nightmare transfer window could get even worse as Champions League giants ‘make Nicolas Jackson enquiry’

NEWCASTLE’s nightmare transfer window could get even worse after Bayern Munich reportedly made an enquiry for Nicolas Jackson.

The Toon have already missed out on numerous targets this summer, including Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and James Trafford.

Newcastle are also sweating on the future of star striker Alexander Isak who is wanted by Liverpool.

The uncertainty over the Swede has made the club even more desperate for a new forward.

Chelsea striker Jackson, 24, appeared to be next on the list to be targeted by manager Eddie Howe but even that move is at risk.

Sky Germany has claimed that Bayern Munich have made an inquiry to sign the Senegal international.

The Bundesliga champions are said to have been informed of the conditions of signing Jackson.

This includes his current status at Stamford Bridge and his price tag.

Jackson has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea following the arrivals of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.

Chelsea are set to demand £80MILLION for the out-of-favour forward – more than Sesko would have cost.

A move to Germany would see Jackson partner England captain Harry Kane at the Allianz Arena.

Newcastle, however, would be left reeling over another failed transfer this summer.

The club were expected to sign Trafford from Burnley, only for the goalkeeper to favour a move to his former club, Manchester City.

Other targets, Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, have both opted for Manchester United.

Sesko is also en route to Old Trafford after turning down a switch to St James’ Park from RB Leipzig.

They also failed to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford, with the forward set to stay put.

Newcastle have managed to partly strengthen the first team this summer.

Anthony Elanga has arrived from Nottingham Forest and Aaron Ramsdale joined on loan from Southampton.

Jackson scored ten times and provided five assists in the Premier League last term.
