POP megastar Taylor Swift has refused to give evidence in friend Blake Lively’s court battle unless “forced” to — amid rumours they have fallen out.
The singer’s lawyers have said she “did not agree” to testify and has “no material role” in the case.
Blake is suing co-star Justin Baldoni for alleged sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign against her after they clashed on the set of 2024 film It Ends With Us, which he also directed.
His lawyers claim Taylor agreed to a make a sworn statement in the case, which her team has now denied.
Mr Baldoni’s team also want to use text messages sent between the two women as evidence.
In one, Blake said Taylor was one of her “dragons”.
But the pop icon says the only way she would be interrogated by Mr Baldoni’s lawyers was if she was forced to.
And her team claimed attempts to drag her into the fight were “to draw public interest by creating tabloid click-bait instead of focusing on the facts”.
Baldoni tried to countersue Blake, but his case was thrown out in June.
Taylor and Blake have been pals for ten years and she is godmother to the actress and hubby Ryan Reynolds’ kids.
But there are rumours the pair are not currently speaking as Taylor attempts to distance herself from the ugly courtroom drama.
They have not been seen together in almost a year.
On Friday, lawyers Taylor told the court: “My client did not agree to a deposition, but if she is forced into a deposition, we advised her schedule would accommodate the time required during the week of October 20.”
Taylor’s new album The Life of a Showgirl is released on October 3.
Blake’s legal case is expected to go to trial next March.
