New Audi F1 car with distinctive colour scheme revealed ahead of debut season along with EPIC RS6 crossover

THERE’S no trophy in F1 for the best-dressed car or coolest team kit.

Otherwise, Audi would walk it.

I think we’re all agreed on that.

Now here’s a little world exclusive for you.

You’ll be able to buy an Audi RS6 in these can’t-miss-it F1 colours in the coming months.

As well as scoring adidas F1 clobber that you’ll happily wear every week, not just at Silverstone in July.

I reckon there’s a new Audi R8 supercar in the pipeline, too.

Hang on, that’s TWO world exclusives for you in just three paragraphs.

Big unveil

I had a natter with Audi chief Gernot Dollner at the F1 car’s big unveil in Berlin on Tuesday night.

He promised: “With future RS models we will see the bridge between Formula 1 and our road cars.“

Excellent.

I can’t afford a Ferrari or a McLaren or an Aston Martin and Merc’s AMG One cost £2million.

Dollner replied: “Maybe we can help.

“We have a high consistency between the brand approach to Formula 1 and what Audi is all about in terms of design, look, feel and technology, and we will definitely use that to transport items to our road cars.”

The upcoming RS6 estate will be powered by a 2.9-litre V6 plug-in hybrid producing 600hp-plus.

Punchy but not 1,000hp punchy like the 1.6-litre V6 turbo hybrid in the F1 car.

Both are gonna sound great.

Now, back to today’s second world exclusive. Audi is about to reboot the legendary R8.

This time with a 920hp tri-motor V8 based on a Lamborghini Temerario. I reckon so, anyway. The original R8 turns 20 this year. Perfect timing.

Dollner said: “Maybe Formula 1 will inspire the Audi team to come up with something very new and special.

“I’m quite sure that one day there could even be a car in the direction you just mentioned.” That’s a yes, then.

Let’s finish by geeking out on F1’s sweeping rule changes for 2026:

  • Smaller, lighter cars
  • Active aero
  • 50-50 power split, fuel and electric
  • Boost, overtake and recharge buttons
  • Flatter floors (no ground-effect tunnels)

I told you we were going geeky.

No one is expecting Audi to win anything in its rookie season. The first race in Australia is in two months.

But give it five years and bosses want to be fighting McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari and, more than likely, Aston Martin, for the championship trophies.

You only have to look at Le Mans, WRC and Dakar to see that Audi plays to win.

Dollner said: “Today is the start of something extraordinary. We never join motorsport to participate, we join to innovate, to be courageous, and to win in the end.”
