‘Never felt this bad’ – Darts star Danny Noppert hits nine-darter after throwing up FIVE times

DANNY NOPPERT conjured a brilliant nine-darter despite throwing up FIVE times before his match.

The Freeze, 35, took on Dimitri Van den Bergh at the UK Open.

Already leading 9-4, Noppert sealed progression to the next round with a nine-darter.

The world No11 beamed but gave an otherwise understated celebration before embracing his Belgian compatriot Van den Bergh.

Posting on Facebook after the match, Noppert revealed the extent of his illness.

He wrote: “Never felt this bad before a match. Threw up 5 times and had serious stomach issues…

“Still managed to win and finished it with a 9-darter.

“In bed now, hoping to feel better tomorrow.”

Noppert has drawn two-time world champion Peter Wright in the next round.

Snakebite, 55, booked his place in the fifth round by beating Darius Labanauskas 6-3.

Noppert won the UK Open at Butlins back in 2022.

On that occasion he defeated William O’Connor 11-9 in the semis before edging out Michael Smith 11-10 in a close final.

Wright, meanwhile, has also won the UK Open.

He prevailed in 2017 by beating Gerwyn Price at Minehead.
