DETAILS surrounding the tragic murder of a young girl found dismembered in singer D4vd’s car are being kept secret as a grand jury hears the case.
An investigative grand jury was presented with the evidence in the case related to the murder of Celeste Rivas-Hernandez, 15.
The grand jury will proceed with the case in “secret” to protect the integrity of the investigation and the identities of witnesses testifying, according to The Los Angeles Times.
A court petition reveals that the LAPD detective Joshua Byers of the Robbery Homicide Division pushed for the judge to stop the results of Rivas-Hernandez’s autopsy from being shown by the L.A. County Medical Examiner.
The detectives also asked that information related to her death not be made public.
Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman plans on calling several witnesses in front of the grand jury, according to a source.
The district attorney’s office told the LA Times that they could not “disclose and information about grand jury proceedings.”
Rivas first vanished in April 2024.
The teen ran away from her home in Lake Elsinor and was found dead on September 8, 2025.
Rivas’ body was found dismembered inside an impounded Tesla, which had been sitting in the impound lot for over 48 hours.
The Tesla was later found to be registered to musician David Anthony Burker, who goes under the alias D4vd.
Detectives raided Burke’s Hollywood Hills rental property and later seized “several items of evidence” from the $4.1 million home.
The teen’s remains had allegedly been frozen, decapitated, and cut into pieces, a source told TMZ.
The body parts were allegedly still “partially frozen” when detectives recovered them from the Tesla.
Burke’s home was large enough to “stow a body,” the outlet alleged.
Private investigator Steve Fischer independently reviewed the case and told The Daily Mail that there’s no validity to the claims.

November 22: Reports claim Rivas’ body was partially frozen when it was found inside D4vd’s Tesla
“The freezer still had its shelves installed, along with food and beverage items that had clearly been there for months,” said Fischer.
“I [also] tested key areas of interest in and around the home with Luminol and BlueStar [to look] for blood evidence and did not get any positive results.”
LAPD captain and commanding officer of the Robbery-Homicide Division, Scot Williams, also shot down the rumors.
“Celeste’s body was not frozen,” Williams told PEOPLE.
“She was not decapitated. The whole frozen thing doesn’t even make sense. Her body was in the car for weeks.
“Even if she had been frozen solid when she was put in the car (which there is NO evidence to suggest she was), five or more weeks in the trunk of a car in sweltering heat in the middle of summer would not have resulted in a partially frozen body being discovered on September 8th.”
The LAPD has refused to publicly name the singer, or anyone else, as a suspect in the case.
Investigators are still awaiting a cause of death for the teen.
No arrests have been made, and no criminal charges have been filed either, People also reported earlier this week.
“We are working to determine if her death was a murder or something else,” the police source said.
The source said they are still working to pinpoint the exact time of death for the teen.
“Springtime is the closest we’ve come to determining the time of her death. Not before then.”
