A HIT BBC comedy has disappeared from the TV listings just days before it was due to air.
A new 20-minute episode of Mandy, written by and starring Diane Morgan, had been scheduled for broadcast on Monday at 10.25pm.
Tim Burton flick Beetlejuice will air earlier than planned to fill the gap.
The Christmas special, titled The Mandy Who Knew Too Much, was filmed back in January alongside series four episodes, which aired in the summer.
Its synopsis suggested jobless Mandy is going to make her presence felt by wading into some big real life issue.
It reads: “Mandy rarely dabbles in global diplomacy, especially over Christmas when it’s so cold out and there’s good telly on, but when she does, you can bet that she makes a real difference to the balance of power in the world.”
The trailer sees her clashing with a pal over their views on Christmas. Downbeat Mandy called it too commercial and lamented kids only being excited over expensive gifts.
An insider told us: “The special was actually shot almost a year ago in January 2025, and there were parts that were out of date so the edit is being updated. It couldn’t be done in time for Christmas transmission but it will air.”
A representative for the BBC told The Sun: “I can confirm that Mandy has been moved and will now transmit in 2026.”
The latest series of Mandy featured a number of famous cameos in consumer king Martin Lewis, Paddy McGuinness, Sian Gibson, and ex-EastEnder Cheryl Fergison.
It was the first time Diane has teamed up with BBC producer husband Ben Caudell to write the show.
Work and Mandy rarely go hand in hand, with her various tenures short-lived and not quite suited to her personality or lifestyle.
In series one she worked in a banana factory, while series two saw her trying her hand at cleaning.
There was greater variety in series three as she worked as an air hostess, in an abattoir and a biscuit factory.
Though none allowed her to truly be herself.
Her struggle for the perfect job didn’t let up in series four and after a failed stint in a call centre, she turned to side hustles to bring in cash and move up the social ladder.
Show creator Diane is one of the UK’s biggest comedy stars.
Best known for playing hapless journo Philomena Cunk, she’s also starred as dim office worker Kath in Ricky Gervais‘ After Life and unfiltered and chaotic mum Liz in BBC sitcom Motherland.
