Mystery as British businessman, 47, dies while on holiday in Morocco with his 25-year-old girlfriend – who told family by ‘video calling with his body in the background’

The family of a businessman who died on holiday with his 25-year-old girlfriend are demanding answers – as they say they have no idea where he was buried or how he died.

Allen McKenna, 47, collapsed in Casablanca in February, while abroad with his Moroccan girlfriend Majda Mjaoual.

Mr McKenna’s father Alan Moorhead, of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, says he received a video call from Ms Mjaoual on February 22 and could see his son’s body in the background.

She said that he had died after having a fatal heart attack, but his family were not able to get hold of a death certificate or a coroners report.

She buried him two days after his death before flying to the UK to organise his affairs – but has not said where he was laid to rest.

Now Mr McKenna’s family are desperately trying to find out where he is buried and what happened when he died.

‘It’s soul destroying. I don’t know where to move, I don’t know what to do,’ Mr Moorhead told 9News.

‘He deserves better. He deserves to come back here to South Australia and then all the family can have closure.

‘It’s just unbelievable. She’s not answering any messages, phone calls, texts – nothing.

‘I just want my lad back.’

Mr McKenna studied at the University of South Australia, and when he died was running three British companies, including a brewery.

Mr Moorhead, who now lives in Adelaide, says he wants to bring his son home to Australia, where he grew up.

The Foreign Office told The Sun: ‘We are supporting the family of a British man following his death in Morocco and are in contact with the local authorities.’

North Yorkshire Police, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Interpol are also said to be investigating.
