A COUPLE have gone viral for sharing the realities of living on a council estate.
Sam, from the UK, took to social media, filming his partner and her mate living it up in the sunshine.

Nicknaming her ‘Council Estate Final Boss’, Sam said: “Tell me you’re from a council estate without telling me you’re from a council estate.”
In the video, his wife sat outside of their home on the road on a camping chair with her crocs on, swigging from a bottle of blue WKD.
In the couple’s front garden, they had an inflatable pool while a small bouncy castle resided on the path.
To top it off, there was a small barbeque that had just been used to cook some food.

Friends from across the road had also joined in on the fun while the children played in the bouncy castle.
And Sam revealed he wouldn’t have it any other way.
He added: “Truth is old people, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
“I’d much rather live on a council estate than live in like, stuck up ends, you know what I mean.
“You learn a lot of life skills living on a council estate man.”
Sam went on to add that he had lived on posher estates before but left them to go back to a council estate as he much preferred the lifestyle there.
The clip soon went viral on his TikTok account @samthedogman1 with over 1 million views and 28k likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments, with many disagreeing with Sam.
One person wrote: “You do realise the opposite to a council estate isn’t being stuck up. I grew up on a council estate and would never go back. Most people have no ambitions and ponce off the social. Overweight kids and eat crap and drink all day.”
Another commented: “I grew up on a council estate when the people were lovely, now it’s full of people that can’t be bothered looking after their gardens and dump crap outside….no thanks.”
“I’m glad my taxes aren’t going to waste,” penned a third.
The reality of living in a council house

When I was a child I grew up in a council house, and was blissfully unaware of the discrimination that came with that, until I became an adult.
My younger years were spent running up and down the stairs of my flat, meeting with other friends who lived there and making the most of the communal garden.
But now, it seems no matter your circumstance, everyone has something to say about why you shouldn’t be there.
Living just outside of London like I did, rent prices are still high, and as my mum was at home raising three kids at the time, it wasn’t easy to find a job that fit around that.
People in council houses are often labelled as ‘scroungers’ or ‘lazy’ but it’s nothing of the sort.
Most families in council homes experience overcrowding, and let’s not even mention the horrendous amount of damp and mould that comes from living in old social housing that hasn’t had work done to them in 50 or so years.
It’s not ideal for many, but it does provide a secure home without the fear your rent will shoot up every single year, which I would argue is vital to children growing up on the poverty line.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Grew up on a council estate… and the life lesson I learnt was to get out and not let my kids grow up like I did.”
“Grew up on some rough council estates, but they are only rough to outsiders. Once you get to know everyone, most people are absolutely bang on,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “The best of friends and neighbours are made on a council estate, everyone gets on, neighbours become family.”
