My GG boobs made me look fat & left me with giant purple marks so I had a reduction at 47, but I’ve still got one regret

A WOMAN who used to have GG boobs has explained why she decided to have a reduction aged 47.

Wendy explained that after losing two stone in weight, she decided to go ahead with the operation to take her down to a DD bra size.

And as well as causing her pain and preventing her for wearing what she wanted, her bigger bust always made her look curvier than she was.

“You just look smaller in general and you will get compliments like people who say to me, ‘Oh God. I can’t believe the difference it’s made to your physique! You look like you’ve lost so much weight!’ and I hadn’t,” Wendy said in a video on her TikTok page.

“It just made me look like it, because I weren’t carrying around these big old t**ties!”

Not only that, but she doesn’t have to deal with any purple marks on her body any more.

“I’d get so many marks and indentations I’d get from underwired bras,” Wendy told Fabulous Online.

“They left sore, big, purple indentation marks on my sides.

“Especially when you’ve got boob sweat and the wires are cutting in.”

Another of the biggest reasons she chose to have the reduction was because she was so “restricted” in what she “could and couldn’t wear“.

“Going out outfits had to be planned around my bra, as I hated showing too much cleavage or my bra straps showing,” she sighed.

“Now I can wear what the hell I like and if I want to go out with no bra on, I can go out with no bra on.

I couldn’t look at my 34E boobs – now I’m a 32C after taxpayers funded a reduction

“And obviously big girls we can’t do that because they start flopping on your knees.

“So yeah – I can wear whatever clothes I want… and it is f**king marvellous.”

As part of her breast reduction, she was also given an “uplift”, which made her boobs “perky” – and again means she no longer has to worry about wearing a bra.

“If you don’t want to wear a bra you don’t have to because your boobs just sit there, your nipples are pointing to where they need to be pointing, they’re not pointing down to your toes!” Wendy laughed.

However, there’s one regret Wendy has when it comes to her surgery – namely that she didn’t have it sooner.

“I don’t have many regrets in life but the biggest regret that I do have is waiting till I was 47 to have a breast reduction,” she continued.

5 clothing mistakes women with big boobs make

Do you have DD+ boobs and struggle to find clothes that fit?

Fabulous’ Fashion Editor Clemmie Fieldsend has shared her top tips on clothes to avoid if you have a big bust.

1. Say no to the polo

High necklines such a roll necks are to be avoided if you have a fuller bust.  Closed chests and necks make your boobs appear bigger and can sometimes give you the dreaded uni-boob.

Try wearing V-necks, sweetheart, off the shoulder or scooped necklines that elongate the look of your neck and decolletage.

2. Bigger isn’t better

Frills, draping and excess fabric to cover your boobs only makes them look bigger.  They make you look too top heavy and add unnecessary bulk on your top half which distracts from your face.

Instead keep things clean and simple with sleek fabrics and designs with open necklines.

3. Skip slogan tees

Slogan or printed T-shirts are having a moment with fashion fans falling over themselves to get Ganni Tees, or their high street dupes.

The key is to make sure you’re not buying a top with thick, heavy paint plastered on as the print. These will stretch over your fuller chests and split, resulting in a messy look and a ruined T-shirt that’s now a waste of money.

4. Avoid crop tops

Tops that are shorter in length or crop tops should be swerved if you had a big chest. You’ll find you spend most of your time pulling it down and also it messes with the proportions of your body.

If you have a big bust and a crop top on, they cut you off in the middle, which makes your bust look even bigger and in worse cases give the illusion that your chest meets your waist.

A longer top (including anything from a T-shirt to a jumper) will create the right proportions.

5. Body-wrong

Straight or tight fitted dresses are brilliant at showing off your figure.  However if you have a big bust that isn’t in proportion with the rest of your shape they’re a no-go.

If you have a fuller bust you can create balance and a defined hourglass silhouette by wearing A-line dresses or skirts.

“I know that sounds silly but the difference it has made to my life is just phenomenal.

“So if you are thinking of having a breast reduction at any point my advice to you would be have it done sooner rather than later, where you can enjoy the benefits of having smaller boobs!”

Another thing she wishes she’d done is kept the bandages and dressings on for longer, like the surgeon suggested, as it “really helps reduce scarring”.

“I’m 47 too. I’ve wanted a breast reduction for years,” one person commented on the TikTok video.

“Doctors weren’t having any of it over the years.

“I’ve since had a gastric sleeve and lost over 5 stone, I’ve lost weight around my back but not once have I gone down a bra size.

“I want a breast reduction more than anything. I’m so pleased for you!”

“I’m 3 weeks post op today absolutely best decision ever,” another added.

As a third sighed: “I backed out night before my op… biggest regret!”
