My bridesmaid left me speechless when she made an outfit request – people say she should be banned from the big day

A BRIDE-TO-BE was left ”speechless”after her bridesmaid made a special outfit request for her wedding next year.

Chloe Cotterell, from the UK, revealed on TikTok that one of her ten bridesmaids asked to try on a white gown during their dress-fitting trip she had organised ahead of the special occasion.

In a clip which has been viewed more 648,000 times, the young woman explained that she offered all the bridesmaids a colour palette of ”six shades of pink” to choose from.

However, one of her friends ”thought it would be really cool if she could be the one in a white dress compared to the other bridesmaids”.

Describing the situation as ”strange”, the bride-to-be asked her followers how she should handle it – and one viewer even suggesting she should ”uninvite” the bridesmaid in question.

Telling viewers that she had ten bridesmaids, Chloe explained: ”’I’m treating every single one of them to the dress that they want – no budget limit, nothing.

”The only thing the girls had to adhere to was the colour scheme,” she continued.

”Within this colour scheme, there were literally six shades of pink they could choose. They had options.”

The TikToker, who boasts over 256k followers on her page, also gave some background information on the woman – whom she referred to as ”Natalie” – adding that the two had been friends since they were just three.

”We have known each other such a long time, she knows exactly what I do and don’t want with this wedding,” the content creator said.

”I really didn’t think she would be the one I’d complain about.”

When the 11 women went to the bridal dress shop that Chloe had rented out for ”hundreds of pounds”, she saw Natalie talk to the dress assistant in private but had no idea what was said.

Chloe continued: ”The dress assistant then came to me, pulled me to the side and told me what Natalie said.

”And this woman literally asked if she could try on a white gown.”

In the clip, Chloe also emphasised that her friend ”is not engaged”, so it wasn’t the case that she wanted to ”try [it] on to get a vibe” for her own wedding gown.

”She’s painfully single and enjoys it,” Chloe said.

”And if it’s a joke, I don’t find it funny.”

The bride-to-be felt like she had no choice but to confront her friend, as she asked Natalie why she was so keen ”to try on a white bridesmaid dress”.

However, instead of apologising to her old friend or finding a different dress, Natalie doubled down on it, adding that she wanted to stand out from the other bridesmaids in a white dress.

Recalling that she was left ”speechless” by Natalie’s comment, Chloe added: ”It just doesn’t make sense because she’s not the maid of honour, she’s not a head bridesmaid.”

Turning to her followers for ideas on how to tackle the bizarre situation, Chloe said that she doesn’t want Natalie to ”turn up in a white dress”.

Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette

If you’re struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here’s a few rules on what not to wear so you don’t get in trouble.

  • Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom.
  • Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided.
  • Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream – even if it’s not.
  • Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered.
  • Wearing white is a massive no-no if you’re not the bride.

‘So you’ve nine bridesmaids now?’

Chloe’s post, uploaded less than a week ago, has amassed over 100 comments, with many insisting that the pal should be removed from the guest list altogether.

One TikToker wrote: ”Tell her “No!”, and if she doesn’t budge uninvite her to your wedding.”

Another agreed: ”Not invited to the wedding.”

Another person said: ”So you’ve nine bridesmaids now?”

A fourth said: ”She either wears pink or you have nine bridesmaid.”

”Should have told her if she wants to look like a bride, maybe she should fund her own wedding,” someone else chimed in.
