A HIGH school teacher called Ms Love has been arrested over claims she sex trafficked a student alongside her boyfriend.
Elizabeth Jamie Love, 36, allegedly gave cash to the female pupil in a bid to keep her quiet when driving her home following a failed sex plot.
Mum-of-two Ms Love and Jarid “Jack” Krause, 42, were both charged on Friday after the female student reported weeks worth of “inappropriate interactions”.
Ms Love, a teacher for the Educational Service Unit 11 in Nebraska, picked up the student and drove her to Krause’s home on October 11, according to the Holdrege Police Department.
Krause was waiting inside and is accused of leading the girl to an upstairs bedroom.
The student, who Ms Love was working with at the time, then claims he made a request which she thought was for sex, according to an affidavit.
After declining the alleged offer, the girl was allowed to go home, she confirmed to police.
Security footage, reviewed by cops, showed Love following the girl out to her car which was parked by the home.
The girl got in the black Dodge Durango and Love drove her back to her house.
Love apologised in the car but warned her to keep the meeting a secret, the student claims.
The teacher is then accused of handing the girl $100 in five $20 notes.
When quizzed by cops if the cash was meant to be used as hush money Love said it was simply a gift for her to buy a new phone.
An investigation into the accusations came about after the high school student reported inappropriate interactions with the couple over the past few weeks.
A student at one of her schools reported an incident with the couple on October 14.
The affidavit also speaks about a second incident where the student says she overheard a phone conversation in August between Ms Love and Krause.
Krause allegedly told Ms Love he wanted to have sex with the student during the call, according to The Independent.
Love has been charged with one count of sex trafficking of a minor along with an additional count of sexual grooming by a school employee.
She worked for ESU-11 for multiple years in a job which saw her travel to over a dozen schools across south-central Nebraska.
According to her Facebook page, she is a widow and mother of two.
In a post from ESU-11 made earlier this year, she speaks about her love for her job.
A statement on the website reads: “I love working for ESU-11 because I am able to collaborate with incredible people who are dedicated to creating a difference in education.
“I absolutely love partnering with schools to make a difference for students.”
She was placed on administrative leave when the allegations first came out.
Krause is also charged with one count of sex trafficking of a minor.
They are both being held on a $250,000 bond at Phelps County jail.
If convicted, Love and Krause face life in prison and will be placed on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry for life.
Their first court appearance is set for October 27.
The investigation is ongoing with police saying they do not believe there are any other victims.
