M&S brings back ‘favourite’ festive snack that left shoppers devastated when it disappeared from shelves last year

M&S has brought back a wildly popular festive snack that has fans scrambling to their nearest store.

The Milk Chocolate & Cinnamon Tortilla Rolls are back in stores now and hundreds of shoppers have been raving about it on social media.

The crunchy cinnamon spiced tortilla rolls are dipped in milk chocolate to make the perfect snack.

In previous years they’ve sold out quickly so you’ll have to be fast to grab a bag in store.

A savvy shopper shared on the Facebook group Snack Reviews that they’d spotted the treats on shelves, saying: “So glad to see these back at M&S.”

Hundreds of people commented on the post – with many clearly excited for their return.

“I had these last year and OMG they are lovely. Ill be getting them again this year for sure,” one person said.

Another wrote: “We need to go NOW before we can’t get them.”

A third added: “I NEED THESE! THEY HAVE SOLD OUT EVERY YEAR BEFORE I CAN GET THEM.”

The festive treat was selling for £2.75 last year but it’s unclear how much it is now.

A social media post from M&S showing the item on shelves alongside other Christmas treats suggests it’s now at least £3.

That means shoppers will be paying more for the treat than they were last year.

Shoppers had also shared their delight when the sweet and salty snack returned to shelves in 2024.

But they were left devastated when it was axed again weeks before Christmas.

In early December, one confused shopper wrote to the store: “Please don’t break my heart so close to Christmas…. Your chocolate and cinnamon tortilla rolls have disappeared from our local store and I can’t find them online.

“Say they’ll be back on the shelves again soon.”

But M&S then confirmed the snacks had in fact been discontinued.

They joked: “Apologies! We still have a great range of festive treats available in store. I hope you can forgive us.”

More festive snacks landing in stores

The build-up to the festive season is well and truly upon us now – at least as far as supermarkets are concerned.

Major brands have been bringing back some of our festive favourites, as well as launching new treats.

Pringles has unveiled a new Santa’s Mystery Flavour, which leaves shoppers guessing as to what flavour it is.

And it’s brought back its Roast Turkey and Pigs in Blankets flavours.

Plus, Quality Street tubs have already landed back on shelves.

The treat-filled tins are a big hit over Christmas and can get pretty cheap when the price war heats up.

Tesco was previously running an offer where you could pick up a 600g tub for £2.95 if you had a Clubcard.

On the topic of chocolates, Mars has also revealed its Christmas chocolate range for this year.

The chocolate giant is known for its favourites like Maltesers, Galaxy, Mars Bars, Snickers and M&M’s.

Some of the new treats include a Milky Way Advent Calendar, Gingerbread Maltesers Reindeer and Maltesers Christmas Mix Bag.

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
