Mother axes her baby and two young children to death before taking her son, seven, to visit his grandparents because she ‘did not have the strength to deal with him’

A Russian mother allegedly killed her baby and two young children before taking her son, 7, to visit his grandparents because she ‘did not have the strength to deal with him’.

Valentina Mytko, 29, hacked her daughter, four, and sons, eight and seven months, to death with an axe, according to the country’s Investigative Committee.

Mytko is under investigation for the multiple murders of her children ‘with particular cruelty’ in Kansk, Krasnoyarsk region on April 14.

Neighbours heard screams as the eight-year-old was killed, according to the evidence in the case.

‘He screamed really loudly,’ said one.

The killings were witnessed by the woman’s other child, a boy aged seven, when he returned from school, according to reports.

The church-going mother took the boy to his grandparents and ‘sat down and cried’.

Committee official Yulia Arbuzova said: ‘He did not see what happened there.

‘He was in another room.
