MORRISONS has ended its Christmas saver stamp scheme – sparking outrage from shoppers who used it to save for December.
The scheme meant regular customers with a More card could build up a pot of money throughout the year, as well as get a bonus of up to £6, towards their Christmas food shop.

Morrisons did not explain the reason for its decision, but said it was focussing on improving the More Card and the offers made to customers.
Railing against the retailer on X.com, one fuming customer said: “Why have you stopped the saving stamps?
“I used to buy them weekly to save up for the large Christmas shopping expedition, like so many customers.
“No worries, l will put the money away each month, choose where to spend it and not be tied to your supermarket#yourloss”
Another added: “Disappointed to be told you are stopping saving stamps . So easy to save these for Christmas, buying a couple of stamps when I do my shop.”
A third added: “Morrisons are finishing the savers stamps. This is such a shame as they are a good way of many families saving for their Christmas food”
Any Christmas Stamp savings left on customers’ More Card apps have been converted into More Points, which can be spent as Fivers.
For physical Christmas Stamp collectors, stores can redeem them until the end of March if customers come in with remaining stamps.
Morrisons said: “After careful consideration, we made the decision to close the Morrisons Christmas Saver Stamp scheme from the 31st December 2025.
“This change will allow us to focus on enhancing the overall More Card experience such as improving the range of personalised offers for our customers.”
Morrisons’ More Card has various other uses for shoppers, including building up points for shopping with the supermarket, as well as getting cheaper prices for goods.
Once you reach 5,000 points, you can choose either to keep saving your points on your app, or convert them into a “Fiver” – a £5 money-off voucher – to use in store or online.
If you don’t have the app, your Fiver will be printed in-store.
There are also spending challenges like Merry More Points, which ran in late 2025, which required customers to spend £50 a week for four out of five weeks leading to Christmas, to earn 20,000 points worth £20.
Customers can still save their digital More Card fivers throughout the year to spend on their Christmas shop.
Various customers have speculated that Morrisons’ decision relates to new Government legislation which requires strong protection for consumer savings schemes, like Christmas clubs, which came into force on January 1.
Morrisons have not confirmed this as a factor in the decision.
