JUST when Tottenham could see a glimmer of promise, Mickey van de Ven has been sent off against Crystal Palace.
The Dutchman was the last man as Ismael Sarr bore down on goal and he unceremoniously hauled down the Crystal Palace forward in the 38th minute.

In some cases, the player is spared a red card because of double jeopardy, meaning the team have already been punished because a penalty has been awarded against them.
However, that only applies if the player makes a genuine attempt for the ball, which Van de Ven did not.
The former Watford man got up to slot home the penalty and draw level 1-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Mere minutes prior, Spurs had taken the lead after Dominic Solanke did well to adjust his feet and finish from close range.
Palace thought Sarr had given them the lead moments before they fell behind, but the Senegalese star was adjudged to be fractionally offside.
Deep into first-half injury time, the Eagles compounded the home side’s misery by taking the lead thanks to Jorgen Strand-Larsen.
