A MOPED driver has died in a horror crash with police launching an urgent appeal for dashcam footage.
Police raced to the scene of what was described as a “single-vehicle collision” in Christchurch, Dorset on Sunday afternoon.
Dorset Police said the crash involved a green Vespa moped at around 4.55pm.
The rider of the moped – a man in his 80s – was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation into the shocking incident has been launched as road closures remain in place to allow for an examination of the scene.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to urgently come forward.
Police Sergeant Dave Cotterill, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the man who very sadly died.
“I am carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I would ask any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“I am also keen to speak with any motorists who were in the area and may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
