Moment Swedish health minister faints and suffers painful-looking fall during press conference

This is the dramatic moment Sweden‘s newly appointed health minister suddenly collapsed in the middle of a government press conference.

Footage shows Elisabet Lann slowly falling forward and toppling over a lectern before completely collapsing on the floor as she joined Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and other officials in a press briefing on Tuesday.

Other politicians and some journalists rushed to tend to Lann, who appeared to be unconscious after her fall.

Meanwhile, Sweden’s Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch is seen placing Lann in the recovery position while people in the room start shouting ‘call an ambulance, call an ambulance’.

Lann was soon rushed out of the room, leaving party officials and members of the public panicked.

But the health minister soon returned unharmed and jokingly told the audience: ‘This is what can happen when you have low blood sugar’.

The incident came on the same day Lann was appointed health minister after her predecessor, Acko Ankarberg Johansson, resigned suddenly the day before.

The terrifying incident comes  just a month after a Serbian minister suffered a stroke live on air during a TV interview last month.
