CCTV from inside the shop in Wembley, west London, shows the hooded thug entering into the store as he casually greets the shop owner.

But things quickly turn sour when he pulls out a green jerrycan and begins pouring out a liquid – believed to be petrol – behind the till.

The worker steps back in horror before the yob can be heard saying, “Give me all the money… give me all the money now before I set you on fire”.

He then runs towards the back of the shop, before returning armed with the gardening equipment.

NASTY PLOT

Shopkeeper hacked by machete thugs in horror attack outside Scots store

The alleged crook repeatedly threatens “I’ll set you on fire” as he backs out the shop, with the staff member ushering him away with the shovel.

They disappear from view for 40 seconds, while screaming can be heard in the background.

Moments later, the feuding pair re-enter the shop before the hooded man appears to make an audacious attempt to steal the till.

But after being threatened with the makeshift weapon, he fails to grab it and drops it behind the counter.

Chaos then ensues as the employee chases him around the shop floor, knocking over stands and shelves in the process.

They scream and shout as the tussle continues behind the counter, as the alleged thief slips in another bid to grab the till.

As he lays on the floor, the shopkeeper lands several blows with the shovel – but the yob is undeterred and manages to slip away.

The brawl continues in the middle of the store, before another man comes to the rescue of the shopkeeper.

They manage to fend off the alleged crook and all three disappear from shot – with stock strewn all over the shop.

During the almost three minute exchange, the yob could be heard saying: “Get the f*** off me now.”

The shocking incident is understood to have occurred at around 8.45am last Sunday.

Reacting to the footage online, one X user compared the footage to something out of a movie.

They wrote: “Tbh this was just like watching a film! Well done to the shopkeeper for standing his ground!”

Another said: “Gosh forgive me, but man it felt good when he slapped him with the shovel.. what an absolute idiot.”

A third joked: “Well I think we can all agree that went really well.”

The Sun has approached the Met Police for comment.

Earlier this month, footage emerged of a heroic shopkeeper using a milk crate to fight off a pair of knife-wielding robbers.

Bethan John, 25, and Jessie Thompson, 31, were forced to flee Pil Corner Stores in Milford Haven, south Wales.

The pair were forced to leave empty handed after the brave member of staff beat back the armed women.

The pair entered the shop on Friday, July 11, and began demanding money.

CCTV of the terrifying incident shows the two women storm into the shop with their hoods up and their faces covered.

Even when the pair bring out knives, the shopkeeper doesn’t relent and continues to bring the plastic crate down on the women.
