THIS is the moment a Primark worker brawled with a customer in front of horrified shoppers.
Video footage shows the pair screaming as they try to rip each other’s hair out.
Security guards were forced to step in to drag the two women apart.
At one point, the hysterical customer can be heard shouting, “I’m going to kill her” as she is restrained.
The shop assistant then appears to lash out at her own colleagues when they try to intervene.
It is understood the row erupted after the worker told the customer she could not return an item.
A mum was shopping with her toddler when she witnessed the fight in Newcastle’s Metrocentre on Wednesday evening.
She told The Sun: “They were being quite cheeky to each other – just bickering – and then the next minute the Primark worker went right up to the customer’s face.
“They were shouting at each other and then the girl’s friend kicked the worker in the back of the legs.
“Once that happened, the Primark assistant turned around and just flew for the customer and grabbed her hair.
“The girl grabbed her hair back and they were rolling around on the floor, screaming and shouting for a good couple of minutes.
“People were trying to grab them off each other.”
Security guards eventually managed to pull the two women apart and the Primark worker was marched off the shop floor by a manager.
The customer can be heard saying, “look what she’s done” as she clutched her matted hair.
The horrified witness, who filmed the incident, said the floor was “covered in hair” after the brawl.
She described how she tried to shield her two-year-old daughter from the violent outburst but was unable to leave as she was trapped in the queue.
The mum-of-one, 26, added: “I was trying to stand in front of the pram, but I couldn’t go anywhere because there was a massive queue of people.Everyone kept bashing into my buggy in the chaos.”
Northumbria Police confirmed they were called to reports of a disturbance at the Metrocentre around 5.45pm on August 6.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers attended where it was reported that two women – a customer and a staff member – had been involved in a brief verbal altercation.
“For reasons to be established, it is understood the staff member has then proceeded to assault the other woman.
“The victim – aged in her 20s – sustained injuries including bruising and scratches.”
Cops said enquiries into the full circumstances are still ongoing.
A Primark spokesperson said: “We are shocked to hear about a serious incident that occurred on August 6th in one of our stores involving a store colleague and a customer.
“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and colleagues is always our top priority, and we do not tolerate any form of violence or aggression towards anyone in our stores at any time.
“We are taking this incident very seriously and are assisting the police with their investigation.
“We are unable to comment further.”
