This is the moment furious bystanders confront a woman as she cuts down yellow ribbons for Israeli hostages from a fence in north London

The young female was filmed armed with a pair of scissors which she uses to brazenly snip the memorial bands that the Jewish community have tied to railings.

Wearing a navy blue bomber jacket, and clutching a green, white, and purple striped tote bag under her arm, she declares that they are ‘condoning genocide’.

The yellow ribbon is the symbol of the Bring Them Home campaign for the hostages who were snatched by Hamas terrorists and held captive in Gaza

Furious locals confronted the woman this morning in Muswell Hill outside The Pocket Park on Fortis Green Road, just metres from where the district’s synagogue is located.

During the exchange, the woman carries on cutting the ribbons down as a female asks her for her name.

‘No, you are not going to doing this,’ she snaps back, before adding: ‘Because I’m not committing a crime.’

When bystanders tell her she is breaking the law, she goads them to ‘call the police and then let them know that you have an issue with this’.

A male voice is then heard calling her a ‘disgusting little human being’.

She replies ‘I think condoning genocide is disgusting… yeah because that’s what this is’ while holding on to the bunch of ribbons she has removed.

A Met Police spokesperson told the Daily Mail: ‘At approximately 4.25pm on Monday, 6 October, officers were made aware of a video circulating online which appears to show a woman removing ribbons from fence poles in Muswell Hill, Haringey.

‘Officers have attended the location and are currently reviewing the footage to determine whether any offences, including hate crime or criminal damage, have been committed. Enquiries remain ongoing.

‘Anyone with information is urged to contact police via 101 or on “X” @MetCC quoting reference CAD 4948/06OCT25. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.’

As of October 2025, 48 Israeli hostages remain in Gaza after the Hamas assault. Only about 20 are believed to be alive.

The sickening scenes come just days after the terror attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall.

Hero worshipper Adrian Daulby, 53, tragically died after he was hit by a bullet fired by police as he tried to keep terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie out of the synagogue.

A second member of the congregation, 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz, suffered fatal injuries after being attacked in the road by the knifeman.
