A FED-UP curry house boss baked an 18-inch naan bread for a pothole- plugging stunt — and it survived a traffic pounding.
Farhan Hussain came up with the idea to shame council bosses into fixing the roads.
He said the maze of deep potholes near his Bangladeshi restaurant force him and his customers to crawl along in cars at 10mph.
In a video posted on social media, Farhan laid down the doughy divot device, which is then run over by a passing car — but still holds firm.
In triumph, he cries: “It worked!”
The flatbread floor filler has now been dubbed the “hardest working naan in the village” in Great Shelford, Cambs.
Farhan, who runs the award-winning Shelford Spice restaurant, said of the potholes: “Shelford has a lot of elderly residents. This isn’t inviting or safe.
“We care about Great Shelford — our community deserves better.”
The village was on the Sunday Times best places to live list 2025.
The clip has racked up thousands of views, with fans saying the naan was “doing a better job than the council”.
Jonathon Brookes said online: “Maybe stick it down with leftover sauce?”
Andrew Tuffnell added: “I’ve driven volcanic tracks in Iceland smoother than this.”
One viewer fretted about wasting food but Farhan, 26, said the supersized naan was donated to grateful ducks and seagulls the next day.
Cambridgeshire county council said it would inspect the road and make any necessary repairs.
