A DRIVER fell asleep at the wheel for 20 minutes — in the middle of a motorway.
Maldini Fernandes, 31, earlier sped along at up to 100mph.
He was seen flashing other motorists to move over.
Dashcam footage from his car then showed his vehicle rolling to a stop on the M4 at 1.20am.
He was asleep for 20 minutes as cars and lorries roared past between Junction 9 at Maidenhead, Berks, and Reading’s junction 11 in January, a court heard.
Fernandes, of Southall, West London, admitted dangerous driving and failing to provide a sample of breath.
At Slough magistrates’ court, he got 30 weeks in jail, suspended.
In addition, he was also slapped with a three-year driving ban and 150 hours of unpaid work.
Thames Valley Police said: “Thankfully, no one was seriously injured or killed.
“If you’re driving while tired, take a break.”
