THIS is the shocking moment an Amazon driver appears to swipe a cat from outside a customer’s home.
The video, captured on Diane Huff-Medina’s Ring Doorbell camera, shows the worker dropping off a package on her porch in Lakewood, California.
Moments later, he notices her pet cat, Piper, as meowing can be heard in the background.
He then suddenly picks up the cat and scuttles away.
“I thought he was just petting her for a second,” said Huff-Medina.
“I had to rewatch it a couple of times because it’s hard to see, it’s dark, and he doesn’t carry her very nicely.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”
Huff-Medina has since filed a police report and reported the incident to Amazon.
A spokesperson for Amazon said the delivery worker in question was an independent contractor who used their own vehicle to deliver packages.
They have been unable to contact him since the incident took place, but he has been removed from deliveries.
“This was a horrible act, and we’ve apologized to Ms. Huff-Medina,” the statement said.
“We’re in touch with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office and will continue to support their investigation.”
As of December 16, Piper remains missing.
Huff-Medina wrote on Facebook: “We just want her back home safely.”
This is the latest in a long line of beloved pets to go missing recently.
In November, two pet dogs “disappeared” after they escaped through a hole in the fencing of the back garden in Robinstown, Ireland.
Their owner – a six-year-old girl – was so upset that she asked Santa not to bring her any presents this year, only her two pets back.
Thankfully, after extensive searches the pets were found in a field 2km away from their home.
The youngster’s mum said: “I think it was pure chance that we got a call from a lady who heard dogs barking in a field near her home.
“We couldn’t get to them because of a river so we had to drive over four fields to where they were.
“My husband Steve stayed close to the river to keep talking to them, so they heard his voice and didn’t run away.
“They were absolutely terrified when we got them.”
