Miserable Harry is just Meg’s lap dog – he’s swanning for a UK for a taste of his old life, expert slams

A ROYAL expert says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle clearly have different interests and he’s just her “appendage”.

While the Duchess is pursuing her cooking show and multiple As Ever launches, her husband seems to be missing his old life of charity work.

While the second season of With Love, Meghan dropped on Monday – with mixed reviews – Harry’s latest upcoming project appears to be a short film.

It’s called “Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within”, and will look at Uganda’s Masaka region and the HIV/AIDS crisis there.

This has echoes of Harry’s mum Diana’s work, who pioneered social change on perceptions of HIV/AIDS.

Royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun: “It’s always good when Prince Harry does something for charity, because then he’s doing something for somebody else rather than for himself.

“And that, of course, is what he was trained to do, and that is where his skills lie.

“As for Meghan Markle, her skills are completely different. She is much more of a red carpet person.

“There is obviously a divergence of the ways. He pops back every now and again, and sort of almost resumes his old life for a few days, and then he goes back to being an appendage in the garden.

“He certainly doesn’t look happy. So if by doing these sort of things more often it gives him a bit of a purpose, and it helps other people, then I’m all for it.

“But in the end of the day he’s in a bit of a muddle, because he has opted out and he is not part of the working royal family, and he’s very unlikely ever to be.

“So what can he do but make these odd appearances every now and again?”

If Meghan torched the royal family just to do her bland cooking show her life must be SO sad

The royal expert suggested it would actually be “counterproductive” if Harry returned to royal work in the UK.

He claimed it would spark too many questions surrounding Meghan and their family life which “deflects from the King“.

Mr Vickers alleged the Monarch’s “wayward son” would prove too “controversial” carrying out duties for the Firm.

“He is so angry, he’s so full of bitterness, and at the end of the day, that’s going to be counterproductive,” the expert added.

Despite his thoughts, the royal commentator did believe it was “very clever” to keep the door open for Harry.

But in order for progress to unfold, the Duke would have to “sort himself out” and apologise.

He added: “And that’s very unlikely to happen, so I think we’re in a bit of an impasse.”

MEGHAN TAKING THE LEAD

In Mr Vickers’ expert opinion, Harry appears to be “controlled” by Meghan.

He suggested this power dynamic has been in place ever since the Duchess was welcomed into the Royal Family.

“I remember somebody quite well placed saying that every speech that he made in Australia, he ran past her,” the biographer explained.

“So, I think he sings from her hymn sheet, and that’s not the same hymn sheet as the royal family.”

The expert also touched on his sadness when remembering the days before Meg – when Harry would often be seen alongside Prince William and Catherine at public engagements.

“It looked as though they all got on terribly well together, and they were achieving things,” he said.

“I hate to say it, but the moment she came on the scene, that all changed.”

The expert concluded it will always be down to Prince Harry whether or not he wishes to make amends.

He added; “Until he pulls himself together and eats a bit of humble pie, I don’t think it’s likely to happen.”

This comes as the second series of Meghan’s cooking show was released earlier this week.

Prince Harry does not appear in any of the show’s new episodes, featuring only in two photographs.

Yet she proudly held up a blue baseball cap she made for her hubby with the initials PH40.

The PH refers to his royal title, Prince Harry, despite the fact the pair stepped down as senior working royals in 2020.

The episodes premiered two weeks after Harry and Meghan announced a watered-down deal with the streaming giant Netflix.

They signed a “multi-year, first-look deal for film and television projects”, instead of a reported $100million contract five years ago.
