Michelle Pfeiffer revealed she has welcomed her first grandchild in a very rare interview this week.
The What Lies Beneath star, 67, who shares two children with husband David E. Kelley, 69, but is notoriously private over her personal life, dropped the bombshell during a chat on Monday’s episode of the SmartLess podcast.
While discussing her future acting prospects, the Golden Globe winner said her growing brood had made her reassess work commitments.
She said: ‘I don’t have time nor the desire to go that deep for that long and not be present. I realize I have a finite amount of time left and — I might announce on this show — that I became a grandmother last year.
‘I’ve been very quiet about it and it is— it’s heaven. It’s ridiculous. And if I had known that I was going to be a grandmother, I wouldn’t have taken on so much work, but I’ve enjoyed everything and I’m really grateful.
‘I’ve loved — I love each of these projects. And so the weird thing is that giving up that angst about the process has freed me up and I feel in some ways has made me better.’

Pfeiffer adopted daughter Claudia, 32, in 1993 and gave birth to son John Henry, 31, the following year. She has not revealed which of her children have become parents.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Pfeiffer rose to fame as one of Hollywood’s most bankable actors and became one of the defining sex symbols of the time.
She previously revealed she met her husband on a group date turned blind date.
Pfeiffer told PEOPLE she ‘was anxious,’ and that the date ‘didn’t go well.’
To her surprise, Kelley called her two days later and they lived happily ever after.
At the time they first got together, the Scarface actress was in the process of adopting her first daughter Claudia.
‘It was sort of perfectly timed. I mean, it’s a real testament to the kind of person he is,’ said Michelle, ‘but also to the fact that sometimes the traditional way of doing things isn’t always the best way.’
Kelley adopted Claudia in 1993 following his marriage to Michelle.
