Melania Trump detailed to the Daily Mail how her life got topsy turvy when her husband was elected for a second, non-consecutive term.
As she was readjusting to private life after four years as first lady, she was thrown back into the world of politics when Donald Trump won the 2024 election.
At the Thursday invite-only premiere of her film Melania: Twenty Days to History, the First Lady detailed why she wanted to give Americans a behind-the-scenes look at her life leading up to Trump’s second inauguration.
‘Can you talk a little bit about your inspiration for focusing on these 20 days before inauguration?’ the Daily Mail asked on the red carpet, which the first lady painted black in line with her film promo’s all-black theme.
‘Well, it was my life,’ Melania said alongside the President. ‘So people will see it transitioning from private citizen to being the First Lady again.’
‘The schedule was very intense, they followed me from morning until evening,’ she went on.
‘And you will see what I have to do and what I did from planning the inauguration, to running my business… taking care of the family, moving to the White House, meeting with security detail, establishing the East Wing and hiring the people that need to work for me – but also they work for the American people.’
The movie hit theaters nationwide January 30, but administration officials, politicians, MAGA influencers and sports and music industry stars were invited to see a screening at the Trump-Kennedy Center in Washington, DC the night before.

The President’s oldest son Donald Trump Jr. held an after party on Thursday night at his Executive Club in Georgetown featuring a performance by musical artist Akon.

President Trump called the movie his wife’s ‘baby.’
‘This was her views, it’s her feel, and she’s done a great job,’ Trump told the Daily Mai. ‘I think you’re going to really like it. This is a really good movie. It’s a beautiful movie. It’s a documentary of sorts, but it explains the White House.’
Melania told Fox News panel The Five as part of her promotion for the movie on Wednesday evening that she hopes people will ‘know me a little bit more’ by watching the film.
‘I’m a very private person and a very selective person. What I do, what I don’t do; when I talk, when I don’t talk. And that’s my choice,’ she said.
‘Nobody is in charge of me and I’m not in charge of anybody else.’
