MEGHAN Markle has been ringing round called hospitals in the Philippines where it is believed that her father is being treated, sources revealed.
The Duchess of Sussex, who emailed her father on Friday, has picked up the phone trying to trace her dad who had his leg amputated this weeks sources close to her say.
It is believed Thomas, 81, could be being treated as University of Cebu Medical Centre, after he was photographed wearing a hospital gown with its initials on.
Sources close to the Sussexes also claim they understand Thomas does not have his telephone in his possession at hospital.
And that Meghan, who has not spoken to her dad since before her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry, does not even have his number, it is claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex has personally called several hospitals to try and locate her father without luck, it is said.
She emailed her father on Friday but it is claimed Thomas has not looked at the account for several years.
A spokesman for the Duchess of Sussex declined to comment.
Thomas had previously denied Meghan had got in touch after he was rushed to hospital for “life or death” surgery earlier this week.
The Duchess of Sussex’s father is facing down a pricey medical bill, with his insurance reportedly not covering the cost of his treatment.
The 81-year-old had appealed to his daughter to “see him one more time before I die”, reported MailOnline.
Thomas has never met Meghan’s children, Archie and Lilibet, and he told the outlet he wanted to meet them and his son-in-law, Prince Harry, “before it’s too late”.
“I don’t want to die estranged from Meghan. I want to meet my grandkids. It might be nice to meet her husband too,” he said.
But he denied that his daughter had got in touch after his surgery and added he “would love to speak with her”.
He added that he was “open to reconciling with my daughter” and “never stopped loving her”.
It comes as Thomas underwent life-saving treatment after his left leg was amputated below the knee.
He was rushed to hospital in the Philippines on Tuesday after falling ill at home, with doctors later warning his condition was critical.
The news was announced by his son, Thomas Jr, who is still in touch with his father.
He told the Daily Mail that the surgery was a case of “life or death”.
“My dad is being very brave. His foot turned blue and then black. It happened very quickly.
“I took him to a local hospital and they did some scans and an ultrasound and said the leg had to be amputated.”
He added that his father’s life “was in imminent danger” and described an urgent ambulance transfer to a larger hospital.
Speaking on his father’s health battle, Thomas Jr revealed that his dad now faces paying a massive medical bill for the lifesaving treatment he received.
