MEDICS were rushed onto the set of The Great British Bake Off while filming for last night’s Stand Up To Cancer episode, as one star had a bloody accident while baking.
The episode saw Molly-Mae Hague, JoJo Siwa, Richard Herring and Babatunde Alésh all enter the iconic tent in a bid to impress the show’s judges.
They were tasked with three challenges; a signature challenge which saw them bake a traybake of their choice, a technical challenge which saw them tasked with making a tarte tatin and a Showstopper challenge, where they had to make a 3D biscuit toy.
But during the technical challenge, comedian Richard slashed his finger in a bloody accident.
As the camera was focused on JoJo, Richard was in the background and shouted out that he had been injured
While cutting an apple, Richard could be heard yelping “Ow” before saying “I’ve cut my finger”.
“There’s been an injury,” said a worried Alison Hammond to the camera.
A medic was then seen in the tent with Richard as he got out a first aid kit to wrap up Richard’s finger.
Updating viewers, Alison then said: “It’s all going off, the medic is in.
“Richard might need CPR from me,” she joked.
“I’m gonna carry on,” laughed Richard.
Alison then asked the medic if comedian Richard would be OK, to which the first aider responded: “Yeah he’ll be fine”.
“I’ll spill blood to win Bake Off,” joked Richard, who wore a blue plaster on his finger for the rest of the day.
During the episode, it was Molly-Mae who walked away as Star Baker after impressing the judges with her creations.
She had made no secret of her desire to win earlier on in the episode, admitting she was a longtime fan of the show.
Proudly wearing her winning apron, the Maebe owner said: “This is the best accessory I’ve won in a long time and it’s an accessory that’s going to go with every outfit because I’m not taking it off.”
