McDonald’s fans blasted the Big Tasty for not being big enough after the fast food chain resized the fan favourite item.
Fast food lovers across the nation were left raging as they claimed the ‘Small Tasty[‘s]’ was a ‘disappointment almost as big as Rachel Reeves‘ Budget‘
The burger, which one once came in a large burger bun, is now served in a quarter pounder bap as customers claim the item has less tomato and cheese.
The Big Tasty is a promotional item meaning it usually features on the menu at certain times of the year.
However, the burger is now priced at £6.29 instead of £7.19 ‘to acknowledge the size reduction,’ a source said.
Meanwhile, if fans would like a double Big Tasty meal which features two beef patties, they will have to hand over £9.49.
But food lovers have been left enraged as Kevin Cox from Aylesbury claimed punters are ‘being conned’.
He lambasted his recent visit with his wife to the chain as ‘an utter disappointment and heartbreak’, before adding: ‘We have purchased our last ever Big Tasty.’

He told The Sun: ‘I implore you to hold those responsible for this travesty accountable, and return to the public the Big Tasty as it has always been, not this excuse for a burger.’
People took to social media posting videos of themselves tucking into the Big Tasty with captions such as: ‘McDonald’s thought we wouldn’t notice.’
‘Wt* have done to the BIG tasty? It’s even smaller than a Big Mac,’ one user angrily wrote on X.
‘It used to be a genuinely big burger, which periodically features on the menu, ppl know what they are getting when they order it!
‘McDonalds is attempting to gaslight us, this is NOT a Big Tasty!
A second penned: ‘Hey @McDonaldsUK what did you do to my Big Tasty? This doesn’t qualify as a Big Tasty anymore, maybe you need to rename it just the “Tasty”?’
A third posted: ‘@McDonaldsUK you have p****d half the nation off today, can you please tell me why you think it’s acceptable to change the big tasty???’
‘Well done @McDonaldsUK you took one of favourite, most requested burgers and made it worse. Thanks a bunch.
People took to social media to express their fury at the Big Tasty’s recent change
‘The “big tasty” is now the small tasty with no bacon option. You changed the sauce so already worse, but now it’s not even a luxury size.’
Another wrote: ‘Somehow @McDonaldsUK has managed to ruin the one last decent thing they had. So disappointed with what they’ve done to the big tasty.’
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: ‘We’re always listening to our customers and evolving our menu to reflect their feedback.
‘They told us they love their McDonald’s favourites but want more variety on size, so we’ve delivered.
‘Our iconic Big Tasty now comes in two sizes, perfect for every appetite with the double now providing more Big Tasty than ever before!
‘Whether customers choose one patty or two, they’ll still enjoy that unmistakable Big Tasty flavour they know and love.’
