MAYA Jama has broken her silence on whether she will remain as the host of Love Island, after swirling rumours she’s set to leave the show.
The presenter, 31, appears to be turning her attentions to acting as she’s set to star in the upcoming season of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentleman.
However, Maya says this doesn’t mean she’s leaving behind the ITV2 villa anytime soon.
“I don’t know, but I have no plans to leave yet,” she confirmed to Variety.
Maya, who took over as the show’s host in 2023, continued: “Before I started “Love Island,” I would say you can get what you need out of a show in two years, and then you move on.
“That was always kind of what I had in the back of my mind. But with a show like “Love Island,” it just feels like it keeps growing and I’d be silly to leave now.”

Last May, The Sun revealed that Maya had landed a role as a gangster’s moll in The Gentlemen.
She plays the wife of an acquaintance of the programme’s lead character Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James.
At the time, a source said: “Maya is over the moon to land a role in such a massive show with Guy Ritchie at the helm.
“The Gentlemen was one of 2024’s biggest series and it’s such a glossy, sexy show. It’s a perfect fit.”
Now, Maya has admitted that acting has “always” been in the back of her mind, but something she has finally taken the jump for.
While The Gentleman’s new season is set to be released this year, there is no official release date confirmed yet.
Maya is set for a busy few weeks in the meantime as she fronts the new series of Love Island: All Stars, which kicks off this evening.
The presenter has been in South Africa for the last fortnight waiting for the show to kick off, after wildfires delayed production and postponed the launch show.
While shielding from the fires, Maya and the cast were quickly whisked away from winter villa Ludus Magnus, which costs £9,000 a night to hire.
Maya is rumoured to be getting £800,000 for the run.
