Massive explosion rips through industrial park near major airport in Argentina with flights delayed and cancelled

A MASSIVE explosion ripped through an industrial park near Argentina’s main international airport – creating chaos and apocalyptic scenes.

Flight to and from the capital Buenos Aires were delayed cancelled on Friday night, with at least 15 people hospitalised by the blast.

Footage from the scene shows a huge fire blazing away, sending up a large cloud of thick smoke.

Suddenly, the plant is engulfed in a colossal fireball which mushrooms into the night sky.

A deafening explosion noise cracks across the land as fire alarms ring out and witnesses dive for cover.

Flames continue to climb skyward after the blast.

Gaston Granados, mayor of Ezeiza, said: “The explosions and fire breaking out in the different factories are huge.

“We are trying to control [the fire] and extinguish it but have not been able to so far.”
