MARTIN KEOWN was accused of suffering a “generational meltdown” after clashing with fans live after Arsenal’s Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City.
The Arsenal legend appeared visibly rattled while appearing on talkSPORT as emotions spilled over in the wake of the 2-0 Wembley loss that saw Man City win the League Cup for the ninth time.
And things quickly turned fiery when Gooners and even a Manchester United supporter called in — sparking a heated back-and-forth that left listeners stunned.
Keown had been discussing Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to City, with Arsenal supporters on the line.
A caller named Barry, a United fan, who wasted no time in criticising the pundit, saying listeners were tired of hearing him “going on and on”.
He even admitted Keown’s constant moaning was making him “want Man City to win”.
But the Arsenal icon hit back immediately, snapping: “Don’t put it on me, Barry.”
Keown then dragged up the rivalry between Arsenal and United, referencing Sir Alex Ferguson’s era and accusing United fans of having an agenda against the Gunners.
The exchange quickly escalated as both men talked over each other.

Barry responded by branding him a “coward” from his managerial days — a comment Keown did not appreciate.
The former defender didn’t hold back, insisting United are “not at the level anymore” and questioning when they would next challenge for titles.
He added: “Get behind your own team… maybe you get back to those joyous days.”
At one stage, Keown even suggested United’s lighter schedule had helped them in recent meetings with Arsenal.
The clash ended with the caller labelling him “a clown” before the show cut away, which Keown labelled as “disrespectful”.
The explosive exchange came after Manchester City’s victory shattered Arsenal’s hopes of lifting silverware.
