MARTIN Kemp touched down in Australia just moments ago ahead of his I’m A Celebrity appearance.
The former EastEnders actor, 64, was officially unveiled as one of ten faces heading into the jungle.
Martin flashed a big smile as he arrived at Brisbane Airport on Tuesday.
After landing in Australia, Martin said: “It was nice to sit down for 23 hours.
“I’m not sure where I’m going at the moment.
“What am I gonna miss? My family. But it’s an adventure.”
He laughed about son Roman – who has previously been branded a nepo-baby – calling him a “nepo-daddy” in an X post, and said: “I am a nepo-dad – the original! Yeah, I like that.”
Martin revealed the advice Roman, who finished third on the 2019 series, had given him before he jetted out.
“He said don’t take it seriously, just enjoy it. Which I think is the best advice you can get.”
Earlier today, Martin’s radio DJ son Roman hilariously branded the 80s singer an “absolute nepo-daddy”.
Shortly after the news was revealed, Martin posted a cast picture on Instagram and captioned it: “I’m heading into the jungle.
“People keep asking if I’m scared of snakes or spiders… The truth is, I’m more scared of Roman’s face if I don’t make it as far as he did.”
Roman was quick to comment as he joked: “Absolute nepo-daddy. Only on there cos his sons on The One Show.”
Roman’s comment clearly amused fans, racking up over 3,000 likes on Instagram. One fan replied to Roman: “Best thing I’ve read all day” while others simply replied with laughing face emojis.
The post’s comments section was also full of well-wishes for the Spandau Ballet singer as one said: “My winner right away. Totally rooting for you!”
Another Instagram user gushed: “Absolutely buzzing that you’re in it. Martin 100% my winner already, have fun. Can’t wait to hear your stories.”
Someone else commented: “Can’t wait to watch it, have fun in there.”
While a fourth added: “No one else need bother, he’s my winner already.”
The True hitmaker said ahead of entering the I’m A Celeb jungle: “Phobias? I always thought I don’t have phobias but when I think about it, there are certain things that make me feel sick.
“I am the spider catcher in our house. [Wife] Shirlie won’t go anywhere near them and so I am left to do the business. But I will still get a glass or piece of paper to do it.
“And if anyone says they are ok with heights, they aren’t telling the truth!”
ITV viewers will remember Roman took part on the ITV show back in 2019 and made it all the way to the final before ending his run in third place, behind runner-up Andy Whyment and winner Jacqueline Jossa.
Martin will be joined in the jungle by fellow EastEnders star Shona McGarty, Jack Osbourne, TV icon Ruby Wax and Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley.
