MARRIED At First Sight star Mark Kiley has revealed he was the victim of a brutal attack; leaving him with cuts, bruises and a black eye.
The reality star appeared on the dating show back in 2023, but admitted following the stint he was left “single and unemployed” despite expecting to become a huge star.
Three years on from the show, Mark has revealed he was caught in a harrowing assault – accusing a bouncer of leaving him bloody and severely hurt.
Filming himself for a video uploaded to Instagram, Mark had cuts across his face, a black eye, blood in his fingernails and bruises.
He told the camera: “It’s really funny because never once did i think I’d be making a video, never once did I think it’d be me. And, they think it’s OK, they think it’s OK. just not OK, to do that at all.”
Continuing that it was a security official who had attacked him, and alluding that it was related to his sexuality, Mark explained: “And the worst thing is, it was a bouncer. It’s so funny because you think you’re safe.
“You think, ‘Oh my god, it’s fine, there’s people here, it’s safe. It’s fine to do this’. Look at me, look at me. It’s just really not OK.”
A number of Mark’s former MAFS co-stars took to the comment section to send love to the reality star.
“Angel I am so sorry. This needs to be taken further I can’t believe someone would do that to you, sending you so much love xxxxxx,” said Shona Manderson.
Erica Roberts, Adrienne Naylor, Jay Howard, Rozz Darlington, Paul Liba and Lacey Martin were amongst others who expressed their worry in the comment section.
Captioning the post, Mark wrote: “Where you think it will never for you
“I have never felt billed or targeted against until tonight. It’s not okay.”
Mark rose to prominence on MAFS, deciding to take the dating show leap after being single for a decade.
But while the Customer Service Manager was hoping the show would also launch a new career in the spotlight, he was left disappointed when it didn’t result in love nor fame.
Mark was matched with Sean Malkin, but the pair quickly left the experiment after failing to make a romance work.
While co-stars such as Ella Morgan have gone on to wider TV opportunities and to grow showbiz careers since the show, Mark was left disappointed when the same didn’t happen for him.
In 2024, he told The Sun: “I thought I’d be living the high life, going to events, doing lots of Instagram stuff and that life would be better after being on the show. It feels like I was mis-sold a dream.
“If I had known I’d only be there for such a short amount of time I wouldn’t have bothered. My match wasn’t ready for a relationship and I’ve had to go back to my old workplace.”
Mark added that some of his co-stars had been “scouted” for the show and were prepared to act up in a bid to get more airtime, something he hadn’t been equipped for.
