THE top 100 UK pubs for 2025 have officially been named, with locations across Britain.
This list was announced by The Good Food Guide as part of their annual round-up.
While 12 pubs can be found in London, majority are located in smaller towns across the UK.
From local countryside favourites to celebrity hotspots, this list encompasses all the best aspects of British pubs.
And the nation’s first gastro pub can also be found among the top rankings.
1. The Highland Laddie – Leeds
This century-old boozer reopened in April and describes itself as a “drinkers pub with a dining room”.
Small and cosy, the pub has four local cask ales kept on draft, as well as Guinness and 1970s hit Double Diamond.
The owners said they are “absolutely over the moon” to be recognised by The Good Food Guide as the top pub in Britain.
2. The Kinneuchar Inn – Fife
This 17th century establishment was previously been named the Best Local Restaurant in Scotland in 2023.
The gastro pub is known for its Sunday roasts, family feels, and scenic views of the Stourbridge Canal basin.
Recently renovated, this location maintains the perfect balance between modern and cosy, with wooden flooring, sensitive lighting, and a wood-burning stove.
3. The Merry Harriers – Surrey
This Surrey spot has already been commended by the Good Food Guide for its Sunday Roasts, ranked one of the top dinners of 2024.
With fabulous outdoor spaces, cool rustic interiors, and a phenomenal menu, The Merry Harriers goes way beyond your traditional country pub.
According to the Good Food Guide, the boasts “confident charm in a cosy local”.
4. The Beckford Arms – Wiltshire
This dog-friendly pub has various dining rooms off the main bar area, with a wide-ranging menu.
These menu items are locally sourced where possible, with meat and game from nearby farms, fish landing daily from the Cornwall Coast, and fresh leaves picked just a few steps away in The Beckford Kitchen Garden.
Noted for fast and friendly service, this pub also boasts an extensive wine list.
5. The Radnor Arms – Kent
This recently-renovated Victorian pub features a big, vibrant open dining space.
It celebrates “proper food and proper beer”, drawing in both visitors from far and wide.
However, it is the title of “the locals’ local” that The Radnor Arms holds most dear.
6. Greyhound Inn, Pettistree – Suffolk
This old-school Suffolk pub boasts a weekly changing menu, which features seasonal food and local cask beer.
The Greyhound Inn is the oldest pub in the area, dating back to the 15th century.
Historians believe the building served as a guildhall at one point over the years.
7. The Pelican – London
This west London hangout has been named as a favourite for a variety of A-listers.
Stars such as Dua Lipa, Princess Eugenie, and Olivia Wilde have been known to frequent the establishment.
The Pelican is the highest ranked London location on The Good Food Guide list.
8. The Abbey Inn – North Yorkshire
This 19th century North Yorkshire inn was transformed into a cosy, relaxed country pub.
The historic establishment even overlooks the ruins of famous Byland Abbey.
The Abbey Inn was opened by “The Great British Menu” winner Tommy Banks in 2023.
9. Inn at The Sticks – Carmarthenshire
A place on The Good Food Guide’s Top 100 is one of many accolades awarded to this pub.
Built in the 18th century, this location offers Welsh tapas, great wines, and craft beers.
The Good Food Guide described the setting as “rustic in a stylish, uncluttered way, with quarry tiles and wood floors, exposed beams, brickwork, and a couple of chunky wood burners”.
10. The Pack Horse – Hayfield, Derbyshire
This location blends a cosy interior with a modern take on classic pub grub.
Offering “great food and great beer”, The Pack Horse welcomes everyone from muddy-booted farmers to dogs.
The “quirky” pub offers locally-sourced produce but visitors may have to battle it out for one of only nine tables.
11. The Eagle – London
Britain’s first gastro pub earned a spot on The Good Food Guide’s list for 2025.
Operating for over 30 years in Farringdon, this establishment is credited with being the first of its kind.
Since its opening in 1991, the pub has offered a casual, good value approach to dining using top quality ingredients that were previously only found in expensive restaurants.
12. The Barrington Boar – Somerset
This award-winning restaurant and pub offers a refined Modern British dining experience.
Through its menu, Barrington Bear offers a deep connection with Somerset’s rich culinary heritage.
The restaurant menu focuses on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients from the farmers, foragers, brewers, and cheesemongers living within a few miles of Barrington.
13. The Sun Inn – Dedham, Essex
Another dog-friendly spot, The Sun Inn offers an appealing shabby-chic interior.
The bright yellow pub is located in a picturesque spot in the heart of Constable Country
Diners can enjoy a seasonal menu alongside roaring fires and plush furnishings.
14. The Kerfield Arms – London
While the building dates back to 1863, the pub itself is a relatively new addition to the Camberwell area of London.
Shortly after its opening, the pub jumped straight into various top rankings of gastro pubs in the city.
And now it has earned itself a place among the best across the UK.
15. The Broad Chare – Newcastle
The Reader’s Choice Award winner of The Good Food Guide’s 2025 list, this pub is the perfect blend of modern and classic.
It offers all the best bits of a traditional ale-house, including well-kept beer, honest food, friendly company, and good cheer.
However a fresh, modern touch makes this establishment even more intriguing to patrons.
