Ronaldo rejected CWC side
The president of Wydad Casablanca has revealed they were turned down by Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hicham Ait-Menna said: “Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn’t have come for the money – he doesn’t need it.
“I don’t know how the rumour spread, but yes, I did reach out to one of his agents about three-and-a-half or four months ago, asking: ‘Would he want to play the Club World Cup?’
“He replied, ‘Listen, I don’t think so.’”
Wydad are in a group alongside Man City, Juventus and Al-Ain.

‘Give him nightmares’
Rio Ferdinand has had his say on Viktor Gyokeres’ rift with Sporting Lisbon.
Gyokeres has threatened to go on strike as he claims they have upped their price tag amid interest from Man Utd and Arsenal.
He told talkSPORT: “I would be giving [Sporting president] Frederico Varandas nightmares until we had a deal for him to let me go. I did that at Leeds. I heard that Man Utd were interested in me and I knew Leeds had to let me go.
“I went to the chairman’s office and said to him: ‘Listen, I know you need to sell me, we’re not going to haggle over a few million here or there. Make a deal’.
“I was there for hours waiting and he finally did the deal.
“I’ll tell you what, I would be in his [Varandas] office and he wouldn’t be able to leave.
“I would be in his bed, in the front bedroom, in the kitchen. He wouldn’t be able to get me out of his sight.”
